The take down isn't hard to do, it's just very tedious. You can use conditioner and or oil to help the braid hair separate from the natural hair

You could steam the hair and put put some tension on the twist so it would elongate. Or you could leave it like it is

@deborahnellmcclendon2984 my hair even hates to be steamed but I do use heat from the hooded dryer or my body heat to deep condition if it is necessary.
