Yeah, the GR Choice Awards are very disappointing as always. If you're interested in reading The Honey Witch and the Spellshop, would you want to buddy read one of those with me in spring? Glad that you enjoyed Bookshops & Bonedust. I tried reading it earlier this year, but i just wasn't really in the mood, so i put it down to try again later.

I can't promise anything for next spring because a) my memory is shit, and b) I wanna concentrate on zero TBR next year. But feel free to remind me when you're ready to pick them up. :)

Her Royal Spyness made my depression year in college bearable. Romance is so cute, mysteries so fun. I am also great fun of historical setting where main character is progressive. I highly recommend audiobooks for this series, lady that narrates them is amazing.

@@bookwormwithawitchface it was a fun Audiobook for sure! I can see myself continuing on with the series at some point.

We definitely need all the cozy right now in these dark days, ugh. Glad you enjoyed Bookshops and Bonedust, I also really had a blast with that one! And the GR choice awards are indeed... a thing 🤣"This is not even fantasy", SO TRUE haha where are the epics? Also, I am one of those voters who just puts out a vote in every category even if I haven't read anything, it's a stupid popularity contest any way lol

Yeah, I don't think there is anything wrong with voting for books you haven't read, or just because you can. :D It doesn't really mean much in the end. I moved on to Somewhere Beyond the Sea, but that one did not go into the cosy like I expected in the first third, instead it had Arthur being questioned by this horrible collection of politicians, and while I read that last night I just felt so furious all over again. Why are people like this?

@@KittyAndTheBooks Ugh yeah I also got so disheartened while reading those parts of Somewhere Beyond the Sea, but the unrelenting hope and defiance of those characters gave me life. I think you will love the ending! 🥰

My current obsession to distract me from my terrible mental health has been yet another playthrough of Skyrim LOL. I can't wait to see what you think of Strange and Norrel please spoil the entire book for me because I DNF'ed it around 300 pages in out of boredom. I almost never read books the year they come out so I usually only vote in a couple of GR categories, I also want to read The Tainted Cup. I'm currently reading The Teller of Small Fortunes and hoping it will be a nice cozy distraction, to early to know yet though.

Haha, as long as it helps, it's allowed. I hope Teller of Small Fortunes is good, I have it on my wishlist. I think the title is funny in my head, because in German a "Teller" is a plate. xD As for Strange and Norrell, that vlog should be up next week. :) It does work well as an audiobook for me, but I don't know how I would like reading the physical book.

I voted for The Lost Story, even though The Fox Wife was also very good. I like both more than A Sorceress comes to Call. ( Still, none of them is in my top 10 of the year.)

I have heard very good things about the Lost Story, however, I expected it to be in general fiction. But maybe my impression of it is wrong. :D

@KittyAndTheBooks it has some fantastical elements.
