42:34 This combination of stops for the last verse of a hymn is THE BEST IVE HEARD regardless of what hymn it is, an excellent roaring full organ souns where it is so equally rich in higher and lower voices of both reeds , principals etc that i barely can critique it much (and i always find critisism to say). Its perfect atleast in the recording form of it

as an organist, I am finding great solace in your videos. Last week we found out our 33 year old daughter has stage 4 colon cancer which has spread to her liver. Her doctors have not much hope for a surgical removal of the cancer at this point. It is hard to think straight or even sit at the keyboard. I too, have a limited setup of Hauptwerk through a Roland digital piano and a sizable stereo for amplification. Thank you for your (and Caroline's) efforts to share the beauty of organ music.

Wow! It was spectaculair! Thank you so much Richard! I really enjoyed it a lot! Almost every hymne you played, I've learned at choir practice in my own country in the Dutch language, so I was singing along, only the last piece I sung in English. Again, thank you very much. Very nice and very British. I guessed as much when A Mighty Fortress/Ein Feste Burg came in the first hymn at only 20. Some of my favorite British hymns were missing (especially Easter), but still Lasst uns erfreuen and Praise to the Lord/Lobe den Herrn, at three and one respectively, would find their place in my top three too with Ein feste Burg.

All Creatures of our God & King is called Ye watchers and ye holy ones in the 1940 Episcopal hymnal. Its a great hymn, a real toe tapper played in perfect tempo by Maestro Richard. Let all mortal flesh keep silent was the first hymn I ever learned from the 1940 Episcopal Hymnal when Is was a boy singer in the Little Church Around the Corner in NYC. I thought it was very funerial, I still do.

Richard, thank you so much for these 20 Hymns. Especially "O can it be....." I'm going to play it this Sunday just for the beauty of this melody. My church is only singing the Psalms throug the service, but I use the Hymns before the service start. Believe me, you turn a simple Hymn into a masterpiece. I'm so delighted I found your video's on youtube. Please keep up the good work. Best wishes from South-africa.

was there anyone ever like Herbert Howells. I'm ashamed to admit to I'm an agnostic, but if Howells didn't get me close to any god then no-one. I had the privilege once of accompanying Col Reg Te Deum +m Jubilate at Lincoln cathedral. He was a towering spiritual as well as musical genius. I also played "sine nomine" - such a deceptively simple inconsequential piece - at 17 at Liv Anglican Cathedral...... haha, but betrayed a man who knew the whole range of the the human soul. Love it!!! Thank you Richard!

Thank you so much for this performance. 5 years ago I bought myself a brand new and rather large Allen Organ for my home and it could never even come close to The Marvelous instrument you are playing (which I'm assuming is a Hauptwerk ? ) -Wonderful ! Thine be the Glory doesn't always have an obligatory upward transposition, I never came across that before, not in the hymn book I had anyway. The transposition sounds un-baroque. Thine be the Glory is my top favourite too and your last verse is very effective. I was thinking most of the hymns are rather loud just and possibly causing fatigue before you admitted it, there can be more verses in quieter mood, some just on manuals can be a respite for the ears.
