You need to prioritize being a couple first, and children second. If the couple isn't strong, the family will not be. You can't be everything to your children. They should occasionally get used to being with a sitter and/or grandparents. Or exchange babysitting with your other couple friends twice a year for a long couples weekend. Everyone benefits from it!
@heatherhendricks31885 жыл бұрын
Absolutely...I hear SO many people saying my kids will always come first. No. They should not. Ugh, it's so hard to watch people exhaust themselves doing EVERYTHING for their kids all the time...the stronger your relationship is, the better the family unit is as a whole. Focus on yourselves more.

We have 4 under 5. Adding the fourth was the easiest. They pair off differently when they need breaks so they play together better. My expectation is much more realistic and I don’t sweat the small stuff anymore. And lastly everyone is very understanding when you have four and the support and help seems to multiply when you transition to a family of 6.

I think you're right about "when you know you know" . I have 3 kids (2.5 and 3.5 yrs apart) and I so badly wish I could go back and have them super close together because having them spaced makes a lot of things difficult. Simple things like going to the movies with them. The hardest though is when the oldest started school...it's so hard having 2 different drop offs, pick ups, while still having one at home who naps during the 1st pickup. And I'm now realizing how hard parenting really is as they get older (raising an actual human being who will function in this world vs. just meeting physical needs). The good thing is both of y'all work from home so the logistics will be a lot more manageable. I agree with above poster..."crazy times are short, family is forever"

If you are going to have another I recommend keeping them close in age. If you are feeling any regret right now about not having another I think it will just grow. I am 41 now and I had my last at 39 a fee months before I turned 40. All of my kids are 5 years apart and my only regret is not having them closer in age. It gets so much harder the older you get. And Tiffany the PPD does too. My advice to you from experience and being a PPD survivor I say have another now if you are consodering. And yes you do know you are done when you are! I contemplated my last for two years and then once I was sure to have another it took me 2 years to get pregnant and it was a scary thing because I wasnt even sure if it was going to happen. So keep that in mind too that the older you get the longer it takes. And I never even had to try with my first two. I swear my husb could look at me and get me pregnant! Lol! That was until baby #3! XO

I have a 15 y/o and a 3 y/o and we just started trusting our 15 y/o with watching her sister (really she's asleep when we leave) for a couple of hours so we can have a quick date night. It's made both of us happier and I've noticed a change in my mood since we started dating again.

I love you & I want to cry. After having my two babies 10 months a part at age 32, I told my husband I may want more around age 40. I just turned 47. When younger, it would have been a severe struggle to support any more children. But now that we are more settled...and if I wanted a baby now it would involve fertility treatment (simply due to my age)...and my husband simply does not want any more children (he is 53)... ladies...my advice is...don't hold back. Be honest with your husband/partner about your family vision...even if it changes. I sincerely regret not pushing for 2 more children when I was around age 38, 39, 40...because past that point....yeah... family is everything ❤ There will always be struggles...financial, health, emotional...but that's exactly what family is for. Your own little inner circle, your own little tribe who is there for you...who has your back... ❤

Eeekkk!! I'm so excited that baby #4 is in talks for you guys! We are definitely not at that stage. My husband is definitely thinking NO and I just can't say the same. I feel like now is not the right time, but I can't say never. We currently have a boy who is turning 12yo in a little over a week, a boy who is 6yo and a girl who is 14 months. Right now our daughter is in this stage where she doesn't want me to leave her! At home, at the gym, anywhere...she cries a lot at the door for a few minutes when I'm gone. So my husband is just at the "hell no" stage with even considering a 4th baby. Haha We shall see what the future holds. I just turned 32, so realistically, I do still have some time, but I definitely don't want to wait until I'm 35 and considered "mature" or high risk because of my age.
