I watched every video you have. I think it's cool you share your stories, kinda like a journal log for you. You also teach people how to live" I admire that man. There is nothing better than living your life, cheers.

Great episode. You are onto something with this style of video. Lots of content and variety in 18 minutes. Your father taught me something with the vertical slicing of the popular into boards. I'm not crazy about the saw cut above the shoulders, though! Nice retrieve of the goose by Charlie Dog. Really good "slice of life" stuff. Thanks.

Great video as always. Just rewatching all the beaver camp vids I'm a junior on a line near Fort McMurray and really enjoy your videos. Marten trapping is just about done here and I'm getting excited for spring beaver As for your brown sugar that's all clumpy... seal it in a zip lock or in that can with a slice of fresh bread. The moisture will leave the bread and go into the brown sugar and it will loosen up.

I love your videos, if you seal the brown sugar with a quarter slice of apple overnight the sugar will absorb the moisture from the Apple and it will be soft again.

Andrew my man, you make some seriously awesome vids man. Smoked Whitefish is my favorite, there's a place on the French River in ON that make it really good, dry and flavored nice. I felt happy to see you and Charlie get the first goose of the season. Almost fell off my chair seeing you wearing that goose hat! LOL Very cool way your dad got those planks...smart man! :) Thanks Andrew! cheers

Looks awesome! When you cure the fish next time, put them on a rack in a pan so the liquid can run down underneath. The fish will be drier and take the smoke better! This video was great.

You must be so happy to finally have a goose and fish to smoke for your meals. I saw you had some store bought meat in the cooler. That must cost a pretty penny in the North. I had to laugh when you mentioned the table was "crooked like a politician" ha ha.
@TheWildNorth8 жыл бұрын
+TheWildYam yes everything is expensive in the north once it crosses the 60th parallel the price triples

did salmon candy with the macs I got... brown sugar, salt, honey, real maple syrup... soak 16 hrs, air dry/cure for 24-36 hrs(a fan helps), smoke 6 hrs or so, with alder... damn good... honey helps in the dry cure process, it is a super powered anti bacterial item, last forever, and taste good to, some first aid uses if need be also.

Andrew - does the method of standing on the outstretched wings with the goose on its back and pulling up on its legs to gut and skin it in one go work on a fresh shot goose dya know? Or are they too big to do it ?? Great vids bro - keep em coming eh . .
@Ka7wyf8 жыл бұрын
+flamesfromblazer i know what you are talking about. i did that with partridge cause the wings did not have much meat, just the breast. but geese and pheasant have meat on the wings. that is a great method though. sorry i know u asked Andrew.
@flamesfromblazer8 жыл бұрын
ka7wyf haha - np bro - yeah Ive done it often myself on Pheasant and its a pretty effective and quick method and also sort of strange how it actually works too ,innit !

They are too big, I have tried several times. Work great for those grouse though.

Andrew, I see you boiling water sometimes in a coffee-can-like pot. I'm looking for something large like that (not just a cup) to safely boil water in. I have some "galvanized pails" but someone told me the zinc could come off when they get too hot. Also I'm looking for cheap. Thanks for the help in advance. - Joe

I live in NJ and have resided here for almost 50 tears. I am a hunter and had the opportunity to hunt bear in Ontario. I was at the lodge and THREE Canadian geese landed in the lake behind it. The owners IMMEDIATELY came out with their cameras and started taking pictures. This confused me and I asked them what was the BIG DEAL. They were apparently excited that the Geese landed there. I than said to them ,what's the BIG DEAL ? They replied, we don't see geese all that often. I than said to them THEY ARE CANADIAN GEESE are they not ? I than told them they should come to N.J, where there are places you can't walk 50 feet in a straight line without stepping in goose SH*T.
