My name is Nick Homes. I was, and still am a non genius musician who struggled for many years to find out the secrets of jazz playing. Throughout 38 years of playing, and obsessive investigation I have focussed on building systems of learning for myself and students so they can improve , and reach their goals with the highest probability.

I’m a guitarist and love your videos as guitarist we have a way ignoring more musical approaches and your videos have given me plenty of musical approaches instead of thinking in shapes with the musical approach not being center stage so to speak thank u !!!

Hey Michael, I have some hints for you...1st is you can play the Major Pentatonic starting from the b5 of halfdiminished chord (e.g. Am7b5 chord Eb Major Pentatonic (or C Minor Pentatonic from the b3rd of the chord; that's the same))...or 2nd use the Coltrane Pentatonic (1,2,b3,5,6) starting on the b3 of the chord (e.g. Am7b5 chord, starting Coltrane Pentatonic on the note 'C')... I hope it helps you...or with triad pairs...Am7b5 Cm- and Dm-Triad....kind regards from Germany

I love coming to KZbin and do some site reading practice. I like doing this for what everyone does big band gigs. And I just thought it interesting that on the exercise on time stamps 3:26-3:33 me and you (remember I am sight reading this) me and this Guy both playing Soprano Ghosted the same notes at the same time every single time. Funny right. I will make sure I support You in every possible way I can. I know how it goes...Yard(Bird) saved my life through music first time I heard him play Moose The Mooche (an audition piece) it saved me. Great videos. Thank You so much.

I know some of your previous work from a couple years ago, I felt overwhelmed, but this is really cool and easy to understand! I likely wasnt at a level to really understand your previous work and might not be still, but I think the examples possibly could be clearer for me too. Thank you for this! I was able to apply it on my instrument while watching

Man please stop with those "you need to" titles... You put out great content, marketing is unnecessary. Think about the overthinking/perfectionist people that may struggle with analysis paralysis, already flooded with zillions of exercises they "need to do".
