I think it expects you to begin building from the source not the destination. It didnt want to automatically snap to the previous conveyor when you were sticking the previous one to the next one, in terms of the path of the dirt. But, it did snap happily when you did the other way round.

18:20 my guess is the snap works to connect the "in" end of the one you're placing to the existing conveyor. So the earlier ones down the hill were trying to snap the "in" end to the existing one and take off to the side, and the one at the top here is connecting to the "out" because that's what side you're on.

I kind of prefer the way Construction Simulator handles moving dirt, without the orbs/rocks of material (definitely less computer load) , but yet again in a game like Hydroneer it's satisfying.

I was wondering how big the map was so I took a drywall screw and had it hold W down so my guy would keep running, went to make a coffee and a sandwich. once back on PC, my man was a little over 8,000 meters away and still running, beside having lunch I still didn't get a clue how big the map is.

As it relates to "prospecting" for the most part you'd be using GPR (ground penetrating radar) to determine what kind of minerals are underground. Depending on the particular application it can even be used to figure out the size and shape of a particular deposit.

I believe they get a general idea of where iron is in the ground by measuring the gravity. It is interesting to hear that your normal process is to dig holes every few hundred meters though.

Not gravity, but magnetic fields. A large enough iron deposit can actually mess with a conpass and make it point towards it instead of north

The game clearly snaps source to sinks when building, but RCE stubbornly only wants to build sink to source :p Granted, it makes sense if you need to align the very end 2 km away on a tiny sellpoint, that you would start on that end. But that's when you need to jank the entire way back to he source like that. Would have been better to start from source, and only jank he very last placement, like he ended up doing anyway.

the reason the dirt is not going up the conveyor is because the end of the conveyor before it is under the end of the conveyor going up so it cannot transfer it to the up conveyor.

Snapping probably looks at your cursor, not the ghost (which is a dumb but popular thing to do). I guess it doesn't help that the cursor is invisible while a ghost is displayed.

The snap is a pain, but no more so than the trees. When the game came out I built a lovely bridge (something I'm surprised you didn't do straight away given your proclivity for bridges 😂) from the tarmacked edge of the company lot across to the opposite hill, had it all built beautifully, snapping seems to only work in one direction so that added a lot of learning time, then when I got to the other side I continued along with the road itself. I came back to the bridge after a little while and all the trees have grown back through it again 🙄

If you didnt build backwards like an architect, it probly would've been a bit easier LOL! What I did was sunk the hopper into the ground a bit so I had more clearance. After destroying my third one I got fed up dealing with over dramatic destruction when I barely tap something, so I "buried" it

lithium is worth a lot, considering how abundant it is. a tonne of lithium in china is around 80k Euro or around 69k GBP (nice) a kilo of gold however is 55k Euro or 48k GBP, so gold is "only" about 690 times more valuable than lithium 🤓

I don't think the conveyors are meant to transfer the dirt from your dig site to the wash site. You'd load into a hauler, then drive that to a wash plant and then sell.

I think depends on what your financing, home mortgages are generally low and some introductory buinsess loans or young farmer loans, then they go higher and higher quite often prime plus 1 or some such, and credit cards doing the wonderful rip your eyes out pricing if you miss a payment lol

To do well here I would buy a dozer, rock truck, execavator (without the bucket) a drill, and a bucket, then find good ore, make a road with the dozer, and use the rock truck to transport it, not a conveyor.

What is with all these labor related games; come do a full day’s work of manual labor and get paid nothing? I get it that people want to dig stuff or mow stuff and look at high graphic objects but I don’t get the need for such focus on the fidelity manual overhead labor. Why add in the boring bits like driving 4 kilometers? Why not just teleport to the location or just dig around the building?
