When we were young kids, dad and mom, had us singing church songs in our family band. Dad would preach and we would play stringed instruments and sing. Many of the songs we played are the same songs you are playing on your videos! We have since grown old, mom & dad where called home! Us three kids have grown old but we still sing and play instruments when we get together. My brother Randy has become a preacher in the same church dad & mom used to sing in! I am dying of Alzheimer’s Disease that both mom & dad died from! We now focus on our grandchildren! I get up at 4 AM to pray, read scripture, and sing before the sun comes up! I really love and appreciate your music! Thank you so much for what you do! We don’t have very much money! The years have not been kind in dollars but have been very blessed with people to sing to, play music for, and people to worship with! My race is almost run and grateful for our many kids and grandkids they we get to sing with! Thank you for all your wonderful music! May God Bless you and your family!

My mom finished her work on earth with Alzheimer’s. This was one song I played for her, from when I was young and knew it was important to her. I was still able to connect with her, especially through music I believe. With my mom, who lost ability to communicate as she had, I could see that she was still herself to the end and knew that I loved her. My dad is declining from dementia but the old songs are still his favorites. With my dad who is struggling to express himself now, I see that he’s still the man I knew over the years and I want to keep him out of the court system, despite lack of current help with all the work I have to do. Dementia, in any form, is defined as “two or more parts of the brain dying at one time”. I see it as a blessing, to have had a long goodbye with my mom, and now my dad. I almost died before I was born, but God had plans for my life. God made it possible for me to help my parents, even while my husband declined and also finished his work on earth a week after my mom - just a bit more than three months before my dad had to move in with me. God has also brought people at the right time to help clean out my dad’s house and get repairs done, so we can get it sold - despite family conflict., which God has also held at bay. I’m praying that my dad sees (with understanding) some level of reconciliation and peace within our family before his work on earth is done. In saying all this, I hope to encourage you. God is good. God has orchestrated what my folks needed, with perfect timing. Could I ask you to pray for me also? I’m facing an uncertain and difficult future financially with a handicapped child (because my dad moved in with me and our income was greatly reduced because of my dad’s assets), but I do know that God has provided timely. My faith is being challenged.

On Monday 30 August, in a hotel room, isolated from my family and separated by several states, I made peace with The Savior, and accepted the fact that my family may not see me again this side of eternity. However, I was spiraling down and though committed to not give up, I recognized that it wasn't fully up to me. Upon accepting this there were a few affairs personal that I addressed, and began Praising The LORD singing alongside this and several other worship hymns done by this dear family. I made my mind that as I prepared to meet Jesus that I'd spend my last breaths praising My Savior. I was at perfect peace with this. This peace only HE can give. I just want to say thank you for sharing this music with the world. I have a dear wife, and 3 children. God has delivered me. I am fully persuaded that I will see them again soon. God bless this family from the deepest portion of my heart. And so you know this is one of two songs I am posting this comment to, so you are aware that this and another was so timely. TO HIM BE ALL THE GLORY! AMEN and AMEN!!!!

Wow! I learned this song about 40 years ago. It is in a Dutch Christian songbook, but only the chorus is in it as a song. I never knew that there are also couplets! So thank you! When I was a child, next to our church, (which we had made from an old carpenter's workshop), an older man - Bennie, lived with his brother and sister in a house. Bennie had a large wine stain on half his face. As a result, he also had a large, thick, hanging lower lip. Some children were a little afraid of him, but he was very kind. When he came to church regularly, he came to faith in Jesus and was baptized. At his baptism his favorite song was sung: "Because He lives" in Dutch, which I now know was only the chorus. But that doesn't matter. Sometimes we came home to him and his brother and sister. His brother, who was not able to walk as well anymore, always sat on the couch by the window and waved to all churchgoers - and we waved back. I don't know if this brother and their sister also accepted Jesus, but I'll never forget Bennie and his family. And every time I sing this song, I think of them.
