Good to meet you last night, and an excellent project that I will help with next trip. Thailand needs to ban single use plastics and establish programs to clean up the plastic pollution which is a blight on the country and bad for the environment and wildlife, and also bad for people in general. The Kingdom needs a lot more recycling bins across the country and an ongoing public education campaign in Thai and English about how people can do the right thing. Tourists can help by refusing plastic bags (7/11, Big C etc are the worst for handing out single use plastic bags) and carrying their own non plastic bags. This sets a good example and encourages others to do the same. Also, if you see rubbish on the ground (especially on the beaches), pick it up and bin it ! It’s as easy as that to make a positive difference …
