When my nephew was so into my plants I kept cans from the recycling and put them through the dishwasher. Then did yarn and glue from a pile of left overs I had and made bright toy planters for him. Then we hit the dollar store and picked out flowers and faux folage from the floral section and I took green floral blocks and made blocks to fit into the cans and gluie gunned them down.made him faux plants and his own little rack at his level. I had two sets of these wooden garden tools that came with a bamboo rack and we made him his owm potting bench.

Hi Becca, this new house you got and moved to is really very pretty and I am so excited to see all of the great things you will be doing. I have to say that you are still so pretty and having cut your hair a little really looks so wonderful. I do rememeber when you lived in Arizona and all of those beautiful plants you had there, and also those plants in your classroom. I wish there was a way I could get some of your potting soil because it looks so amazing. Oh gosh and so great you now have that sweet little girl. I am wishing you the best week, sending love and hugs, bye!! 😊🥰💜💜💞💜💜

My daughter loves to pick up my tiny plants and carry them around. I bought her her own watering can and she loves to help me water them!

Ha!!! My daughter loves to hold onto my small plants too. So has a small collection of plants now too I was hoping it would help her not grabbing my plants but it didn't 😅. At least she's a little older now

You should definitely visit Green Acres Nursery once you visit Dallas. I love their greenhouse and would like to buy Delatanks in shops. 😊

I think you made a great point about setting up your old furniture. It's incredibly unrealistic and wasteful to get all new furniture every time you move, especially in this economy. I don't think normal people do that but because so many creators do, it seems normal. Of course sometimes you may have to get more stuff or swap certain items out that don't fit but I swear some influencers treat moving as an opportunity to restart and it's kinda gross when their existing furniture is perfectly good!

Interesting you see getting rid of a lot of stuff when moving as an influencer thing. I personally just got rid of most of my stuff when moving across the country (US, so a big country 😂) because we couldn't afford to truck it all over. In my moves previously, we kept everything. I think it mostly depends on distance and time of life

Thank you for normalizing life with a child and lots of other responsibilities. Like you said, life is really different from what it was several years ago, and not only is that okay, it’s completely normal. Good luck with settling in!

Getting into a new routine in a new house with a kid can be such a difference. Especially around Nora's age. We moved when my son was about 6 months and again when he was almost 1. It is crazy how different those 2 moves were! October 26th is the Texas Rare Plant Market's Texas Aroid show. If you can make it to Houston for that, I highly recommend! Last year it was in Dallas. Also Houston Plant Market does Plantcon. At the end of May 2025 it will be in Houston and earlier this year it was in Dallas. Both of those put off pretty awesome events. 😉

You can have chickens in Oklahoma City just saying. When it comes to gardening it gets really hot and in my area of OKC I fight mosquitoes so much that I just stopped going outside. Hopefully you don't have mosquitoes so bad. When you do your pond keep that water moving mosquitoes are terrible. Have fun and experiment with tropicals close to the brick of your house because you will find micro climates that will allow them to make it through the winter. I have figs that are supposed to die every year but they're protected against my brick they stay warm enough through the winter The most of the branches produce leaves the following year.

I have FEELINGS about the announcement you made on the pod 😭 So excited for your other planty ventures, but Potted Together has been such an anchor during a ton of life transitions over the past few years, and meeting you all at Sunnyside Plants was a highlight of my summer! Supporting you all the way, though, and loving the moving content! So glad to hear you're listening to your body and mental health and taking steps to slow down a bit! Moving is a layered and overwhelming experience! Hugs to you, Daniel, and Nora!

Is your soil good for begonias?
@BeccaDeLaPlants3 ай бұрын
I have used it on cane begonias with success! Probably just need to check the moisture a bit more often, maybe amend with coco peat if it’s drying too quickly for other types.
