As usual another wonderful instrument, whether in terms of the beauty of the object, as its sound. I could spend hours in your shop sir.

Similar to my Bechstein's 1886 model I 145cms tall. Wonderful pianos for sure! But mine is suffering a bit due to the problematic pinblock of these years and the incredible heat of Brazil. I live in the very south which usually hits 0ºC during winter but we're facing 40ºC right now, everyday is a new tuning pin getting loose 😥

The 1885 vintage Bechsteins are really fantastic pianos. This was just the time when they were about to open their London showroom and upon which Bechstein built their reputation getting the Royal Warrant soon after. Abel hammers are the right ones for these instruments and of all the instruments we've had the privilege of Marcus showing us on KZbin, this instrument is the one about which I'd be most enthusiastic. Here's a sister 1885 Bechstein in concert kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXupZIywiaxqorc I've also had experience of maintaining a shorter 1885 Bechstein in Tunbridge Wells for concerts and about which audiences rave. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWOyqmCmnt6fatk These instruments convey the music rather than showing off as an instrument. of all the instruments we've had the privilege of Marcus showing us on KZbin, this instrument is the one about which I'd be most enthusiastic.

Does this have a patent action?

I have one of these, a black 1898 V….No one in Scotland can or will fix it. If only I knew a piano company that would take on the work, or trade it in against something else?
