This to me, speaks to the overall timeless quality of purity, honor, integrity, etc. Like, first off, the back-beat bass drum track and whatnot is very contrived party lo-fi hiphop style, right? But musically, emotionally, the melody and the feeling of pure let-go joy produced by the choices of the music maker, convey a perfection of simplicity that surpass any border or preference. That's what makes this such a joy and spine lift of a song, to the nervous system (and the love.).

Long time Beck fans are always upset when he switches genre's. This isn't his best album by any measure, but if you've been a Beck fan since the beginning you understand this is just what he does. Beck loves ALL genre's. He embraces all of them, even the crappy ones. Don't forget he has 2 Gen-Z kids. Being who he is, he's going to absorb who they are, what moves their generation, and it's going to result in something like this. Any die-hard Beck fan knows we don't own him. We also know he ALWAYS comes back to his folk roots. My 13 year old daughter LOVES this album and Colors. She knows more of the words than I do. For my daughters to love Beck in 2020 as much as I did in 1994 is priceless. I discovered Beck with Hyperspace while ordering PANG by Caroline Polachek on vinyl online, ended up buying the album there alongside and I must say the cover is one I love so much, I was hoping for it to sound as it does. Eventually this album will be regarded as the evidence of the polyamorous bounds Beck has tied with music. No genre. No colour. Just it. This for example does not sound like anything I’ve heard in recent years and yet how mighty poppy and exciting does it for me. Harry Styles is releasing an album one week from now. I can already say that his FINE LINE is going to sell records by thousands and people will reward him and his music for trying different but in the end, Beck is unique and only he can release such art to listen to. Now I love Adore You by Styles but seeing him being compared to Bowie for wearing those attires is an insult to living musical geniuses like Beck. The devil is in the detail. Beck just weaves and sown together fabrics worthless until we stop to listen to his music not as another pop moment or another album in a long list on capitalist shopping sprees but as maybe his final album, i read he divorced, well another man I enjoyed the music released Miami Memory and his name is Alex Cameron, not sure if he divorced but one song he has is called like that.
