Maho is adorable... I'm only a little more than halfway through the season but I could really feel the indecision that Tanaka has when it comes to which girl you should try to date. Both of them are pretty great.

My friends and I had a BECK marathon at my friend's house. I told my friend who missed the first 6 or so episodes, "Episode 5 is THE episode." Because of Moon On The Water. This is THE BECK episode. You cannot like the series and not have seen this episode. Well, you CAN... but it's highly recommended you watch this episode.

Songs are equally good in both languages it really depends on the viewer (i personally like english because it sounds more fluid to my american ears since moon on the water was a beat crusaders song sung in "engrish")

It is well sung and it does have some emotion behind it. If my comment came off sounding like I was saying that it didn't than I'm sorry for that. Love the dub! thought it would be rubbish but it seems to work and I agree the english in the Japanese version makes me cringe. Is it me or do all the characters sound like their drunk?

But the fact that this anime is dubbed ruins the "realistic" concept anyway. I'm not saying you don't have a point...but when you translate things, arguments on realism kind of get lost along the way, regardless of how true they are. I personally prefer these versions over the original, but only because I heard them first and have a bias for Greg Ayres. But the originals are still really cute, and I love these songs (and this series) to death. :3
