Thanks David. You are an inspiration for me. A question-- so I do as you suggest- get a book, and find a picture and I’m inspired. Now what?? I don’t know how to use someone’s painting and try and paint it. How do you do that? Do you have a video already on using this method? Thanks. It sounds wonderful. I’ve been to the Brandywine River Art Museum-in PA. Many Wyeth paintings in there. I enjoy seeing all of their work. A favorite of mine is NC Wyeth’s The Three Fishermen. I would love to do this in watercolor. His use of so many colors in an area is amazing and inspiring to me. Something I would like to learn to do.

Like I talked about in the video... 1st use the books that have the step-by-step in them. If they don't have step-by-step breakdowns then you have to use what you do know about painting, like what I have been teaching in my videos, and use the painting you like as reference, like you would use a photo. 1st draw the scene from the painting, then like I always do start with the lights and work to the darks and then the details. As you are trying to copy the painting look at the colors and soft and hard edges that the artist used. look for things that are stylized and see if you can copy it. Just have fun analyzing the painting and try to learn from the painting you are copying.

@@BeckerArt yes, of course. You help me see that it’s all the same. It felt so overwhelming. Thanks.
