Here is an fully automatic waste oil burner system I built few years back, it is proven design and I use during cold weather months every year. I have to replace waste oil filter after burning 50 gallons oil the is the only major cost. Nozzles last couple years.
System starts automatic when boiler water temp falls below 180 degrees. You do have to clean boiler once a year as there's lots of ash. If you want more info leave comment.

Looks like a lot of us will be trying this this winter! It is going to cost me $7,000 to heat my house this winter if today’s prices are any indicator. Great video this is my next project!

I want to do just like you have done. Very nice conversion. I have been planning this in my head for 2 years. Mine will be in a shed 30' from my house. I will use insulated boiler pipe to run into my house to a heat exchanger in my furnace. I will then use existing furnace and duct work to distribute heat.

What nozzle size and what exhaust gas temperature do you see? What is your source of waste oil? It's a pretty impressive setup you have.

firing rate of boiler 1.5 gph but I found 1.10 gph is better due to hi BTU content of waste oil. exhaust temp 250 degree F ish. I get most oil from business that have fleets they service them self.

@@mjwdrones4all41 Woah. 250F stack temperature is pretty low in a boiler of that size in that firing range. Is it just really efficient, or do you have to use a ton of excess air to get it to burn without soot, which also lowers stack temperatures?

firing rate of boiler is 1.5 Gallan per hour but due to high btu content of waste oil had reduce to 1 GPH. Burner only fires when needed.

+MJW DRONES4all burner is very reliable if you set nozzle and electrode depth right be sure to use 2 micron filter if nozzle is 1 GPH or less larger nozzle 10 micro ok.

semi solid 70 degree sounds like you may not have enough air also make sure you use flame retention head.

WHAT PRESSURE IS THE WASTE OIL, IS THE STARTNG FUEL ALSO UNDER PRESSURE ? IS THE PRESSURE FROM A FLUID PUMP
@mjwdrones4all41
@mjwdrones4all41 6 жыл бұрын
Pressure is made by just regular beckett oil burner pump mounted on the side of burner PSI is 115.

@@mjwdrones4all41 Thanks! I am running WMO in a weil-mclain boiler to heat my greenhouse. I preheat/heat my holding barrel with a drum heater, oil temp is around 130 degree's. I'm only running into an issue when it's been idle for several hours and the oil in the nozzle is cold. Beckett did make a cold start/preheater item that's been discontinued, but I was able to order from INOV8 in WI. It clamps to the nozzle line and keeps it at a similar temp. I really appreciate your setup.
