So, what would the 8.5's and the 9's be worth on majority of cards? Does the .5 create that big of a difference? And how much does it cost to send out cards to get graded? Love the content and love Pristine Auction!

Minor tip that I have learned since getting back into the hobby and learning what I have been doing wrong especially if you are sending off to be graded. I notice in your videos (which are awesome, keep breaking these wicked boxes), that when you handle the cards you hold them by the edges. I wish you would have had the subgrades on these to see what the issue was because some of those seemed centered so could have been edges or surface. But the tip: pinch the card on the front and back instead of holding it by the edges. Edge damage is so easy to inadvertently cause especially under magnification. Pinch the front and back and when you sleeve them, wipe off the fingerprints.

What about the Shaq rookie
@Newman902103 жыл бұрын
That was kind of painful. I feel for you man. I recently picked up a few Bill Walton 74 Topps PSA rookies - an 8.5 , 9(oc) and a 4 .... and they all look like they could pass for 8's.... OR with your BGS grader from this batch.... 6.5's!

Do you suggest beckett or psa
@kameronjames65013 жыл бұрын
You can get a full point higher than the subgrade if there’s a significant difference (3/9/9/9 would be a 4, but 3/5/9/9 would be 3.5). It’s not common but I have seen it.

Bro be honest, why Beckett? Did they promise faster turn around times? Because psa sells for twice as much and they aren't as tuff as bgs! Anyways I have some vintage wax for sale that would be great on your channel if interested...

We also work with PSA on some stuff 👍 Check out the “Consign” page on our website if you’re interested in selling with us or send us an email & we can talk cards!

The value in vintage unopened is to leave it unopened. You will almost never get your money back ripping vintage unopened. I’ve thrown away quite a few thousands dollars chasing vintage high grade cards through packs, it’s damn near impossible. It looks like you didn’t do too well. 🤦♂️ It is a lot of fun ripping these old packs though...

As I'm watching your vid I'm cringing for you. A little constructive criticism if your going to continue to do this. Ask a buddy that has sent in cards to be graded before. On what they look for. Or at the very least watch a you tube video on it. I'm sorry I don't know if you're new to the hobby. But the money you spent on those slabs. Could have been used to buy more cards. I wish you luck in future endeavors though. Don't be afraid to reach out to the community. We all learn as we go. This was me 25 years ago.

Man....I'm screwed. So disappointing. I've got a ton of good old cards, but they aren't even close to shape of these. You pulled them out of the packs, so they've only been touched once or twice!!!!! This just seems so wrong.....Straight out of the pack to the grader and the best is 9.5??????
@PRISTINEAuction13 жыл бұрын
It’s crazy right! Some packs are just really lucky!

They getting low scores because how you handle the cards and centering is bad
