Very cool. I've pretty much ditched both soft shackles and plain continuous loops for the button-knot loop. I use the BH as a backup on short hangs, so good to know that the button-knot helps you get it loose!

Thank you! I have had a scary moment where I couldn’t get my Becket hitch free and thought I was going to have to cut my dyneema webbing just to get my hammock free 🥺

OH yeah I may have been in that situation before :)

This is a GREAT tip that would help with ANY cordage attached via beckett or also a larkshead.

Thanks for the tips. I’ve also had success jerking the loose strap end toward the tree, which seems to loosen the Beckett hitch as well. (Using thicker strap and CL)

Genius. Some people just “see” the mechanics of a problem.

Thanks, Jeff! That 'jammed' Becket Hitch on my Dyneema webbing was a pain during a recent 11 night outing. I'll try this solution out tomorrow. Great Work! The Dyneema strap crinkles, for lack of a better word. Does this crinkling impact the knot?

did it work for you ?

Thanks for the clear instructions. I want to try this with 0.5" Mule Tape. Someone else with a channel had an issue with his slipping, burning/ breaking. I can't see how that could happen with this knot.

mule tape is made to be pulled through electrical conduits, it's made slippery

Thanks. It seems to knot well though. I just learned that it's lubed, so will be cleaning it and try to dye it green. Afterwards plan to use it like you with or without tree huggers. Even with half the load rating down 900#s, it should still be strong enough.

PS:. One more use for this slippery knock is going to be put to use for some arborist work tomorrow. This will allow for easy future adjustments to train limb growth. Thanks for the close camera work. Here's an off topic brief video that I hope you will enjoy as much as I have. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mn2ue4x5atOMY6c
