Osby kills, so unique. He puts notes in rhythmly original places, definitely sounds like Dolphy and Andrew White may have influenced him has well as steve coleman, gary thomas and m-base crew. Most first listeners will probably think he is crazy. I refer everyone to Banned in New York it a must have album.

Yeah, banned in new york is by far a MUST HAVE ALBUM. Steve Coleman is definitely a big influence, I can hear him utilizing Steve's unique m-base 'pathways' ideology in his soloing. Its steves unique signature. You cant go wrong with any of Colemans albums.

Nice, but this is not Bigfoot but Drifting on a Reed. Bigfoot is not even a blues tune.
@GregOsby3 жыл бұрын
You are partially correct. Like many other Charlie Parker tunes, this song has been listed under both names - ‘Bigfoot’ AND ‘Drifting on a Reed’ The one true title is difficult to ascertain as it has been documented that Parker himself often did not actually give his amazing melodies definite names. The songs were often given (sometimes very ridiculous) names by the various record producers after he left the recording studio - yet another tragedy concerning one of the most brilliant artistic minds in modern history. But both titles are indeed played as blues. The form and outline of the melody clearly defines the common blues form. #history

This guitarist has no ideas. He just practices moving his fingers to the accompaniment.
