Oh my goodness!!!!! He totally said it!!!!! Blakley is the sweetest sister! She understands that her brother needs extra encouragement and is happy to give it! Such a great grandpa too! Well, I believe it is difficult for the average person who is not dealing with cerebral palsy to understand how hard these kiddos have to work to do what we all take for granted. You could tell by his facial expressions just how difficult of a task to make the sound he wanted so badly to make! A lot of these kids are super smart living in bodies that hold them back, so they have to work and work to accomplish their milestones! Way to go to Beckham! I have worked with children who have dyslexia learn to read. Research has shown through functional MRI that when a child is reading who has dyslexia, the part of the brain designed to read is not lighting up! They are actually trying to utilize a part of the brain that is not efficient for reading. It is like instead of using a highway, they are using the back roads with road blocks to read! This leaves the children feeling as if they are not as smart as everyone else which couldn’t be further from the truth! They are usually blessed with skill and talent that is extraordinary and above what the average Joe could attain in many areas! It is up to teachers, parents and other support people to discover what that is and encourage them in their areas of strength while at the same time teaching them reading using tools to help them succeed there as well! Every child is designed by God for a special purpose!

You are so right. You could tell by Beckham expressions how much effort it too to put it all together. He did it! Everyone around him needs to be patient, encouraging, let him process everything together his lips, the sounds, the words, and even his breath to get the words out. I know from experience somedays things come faster and easier than others He is so smart! I have CP I know how hard he is trying and like you said you can see it in his facial expressions that he is trying so very hard. I also agree that the parents, teachers, therapists, family members, work with Beckham on his verbal skills/speech because that will change HIS world in a lot of ways! I didn't my first complete sentence until I was 4 and I will be 55 in July, I have had a lot to say since then and I am sure Beckham has a lot to say as well. :) Go Beckham Go!

Omg! I’m crying happy tears! Beckham really is so smart! 😀 I think a lot smarter then any of us realize! Does he have a communication device? Now that he is on Medicaid it will be covered. He needs to see a speech therapist to get one. Hunter truly does deserve that great gift! I think his teeth looked fine before but they look amazing now! We taught my grandson to sign baby signs. He could tell us when he was hungry, when he wanted a drink, when he wanted to go out and play. It made it so much easier to communicate with him.

That's so sweet! I know that feeling of hearing them say new words or even sounds. My son is 3 and recently diagnosed asd. He only said mom and dada for the longest time. just recently he started saying hi, bye and trying to talk more. It definitely makes you feel good. I’m 9 1/2 and I love seeing videos of kids I have a cousin he’s two years old and his brother is like about eight he’s a little Winnie the Pooh and the one. Who’s two is I don’t know, but he’s hard to handle it and every day that I see my cousins I hope that if I get a kid when I’m older, it’s OK if they have any conditions I’m still gonna love them and when I saw that he had that Cerebral Palsy I said if my kid has that one day I’m gonna do the best and it’s very heartwarming. I hope that the best goals and God is always with you guys.

15:45 that “bubba” was so clear! Beckham said that with so much confidence! The smartest little rockstar. I’m bawling. Hunter’s reaction to his veneers was like a kid in a candy store. I’m so glad he did this for himself. As someone with a lot of self esteem issues, I’m also a big believer in doing what you need to boost your confidence. Blakely having a blast in the pool makes me wish I learned how to swim when I had the chance. But it’s always been a bit of a challenge with my CP because my left side is so much weaker.
