Totally agree. I've recently revisited the series and read that the producers felt they needed to surround Roseanne with great actors in order to offset her "lack of abilities" by giving her talent to work with it, but like you, I actually thinks she's a naturally gifted actress. Perhaps because she saw much of herself in that role, however she is magnetic.

At least Becky wanted to be responsible, and protect herself from an unwanted pregnancy. Nothing wrong with that--I was on Depo Provera for 12 years, starting when I was about 16. Janet Griffiths Similar situation here......At age 17 and 19, I became pregnant (same guy)...had miscarriages both times within the first 3 months of my pregnancy. At 26, I became pregnant again...miscarried within 3 months. The following year, my menstrual cycle became very irregular, so I went to a doctor & he did some tests. Turns out, I was already starting menopause, and within the next 2 years, my menstrual cycle stopped altogether. I never had any children, obviously, but to be honest, I look back *now* , and I'm glad I never had any. I am 47 now, and there has been times where I've mentioned that I don't have children, and someone will give me the sympathetic "Awwww....I'm so sorry !!" LOL. I guess it's expected in society that everyone should have children, but what some people don't realize, is that not all of us want them.

Becky hasn't much to worry about with that birth control hair cut she got. Not a good look.
@musicaltheatergeek797 жыл бұрын
Agreed, but It was a popular look at the time, c. 1990/1991. Demi Moore had just sported it (and popularized it) in GHOST, the #1 film of 1990. I started 5th grade that September, and I remember a lot of the girls in my grade went from having long, processed hair and crispy mall bangs at the beginning of the school year to this boyish cut by spring. I mourned.
@lexik46037 жыл бұрын
Actually there was a story behind that haircut. Apparently Lecy Goranson (Becky's actress) wanted to just cut her hair shorter in general, and the producers wouldn't allow her to do it because her character had long hair. She went and complained to roseanne about it and roseanne literally picked up scissors, chopped her hair off, and said "well they have to let you now!"
