Ronda and all the other mma guys were an experiment of vince, he sometimes liked to turn up the heat to get more action out of the wrestlers. He did these things with a lot of guys, but he created in some sense a lot of spectacular fights with it on the cost of his wrestlers. Ronda had a good education with judo gene lebell, who was involved in wrestling too. There is his tutorial here on youtube. but the mentality of mma is way different than in wrestling. MMA people are usually very rough and partly anti social, they are used to get thrown into a shark tank with the door locked, that is not what wrestling is like. There are videos here on brock lesnar like the dark side series, look it up and you gonna understand what i mean.

She gushes on and on and on about how much she just loves Piper and everything he did, then in the same breath, disrespects the very sport he dedicated his life to. It's her ego. When she went to WWE she got everything handed to her on a silver platter. She got a legacy moniker, a title run AND a face run against Trips and Steph. All it took was some fans pushing against Vince's bruteforced face run and she went nuts on social media. That's why she's not respected, instead of getting up after getting knocked down, she goes on talk shows and tweets how it's not her fault.

I'm sure there are quite a few people in the locker room and among the fans who think a KZbin star who didn't pay his dues for years in indie undercard matches doesn't deserve to be in a ring. The opposite side of Paul's early boost is Big Show's long decline I think--someone who deserved better booking, treatment, and writing, but was overexposed early on and then used as a jobber later. When Show was turning heel and face constantly he was often getting crapped on at every live event, taping, and PPV unless he had some interesting angle like with Shaq and Mayweather. Meanwhile a guy with Show's history in and eventual dedication to the business deserved more pushes and to have the belt put on him a few times. It was like his size and athleticism were totally ignored. He was a huge guy but came across as a slow witted paper tiger. I don't blame him for going to AEW. At WWE he was treated like a decades long middle manager who would never get to move up. I feel like he was taken much more seriously in his early WCW days before he gained all the weight and started having to job.

I will never forget the match Ronda Rousey had with Charlotte Flair - I believe it was a Survivor Series - and Charlotte was supposed to be the heel going in with Ronda being the babyface. Charlotte started laying into Ronda with a kendo stick and the crowd was cheering it. But what I remember the most was a brief interaction Ronda had with a male fan on her way backstage where I guess he said something to her, probably that she sucked or something, and Ronda told him he wasn't a real man. I remember seeing that and instantly knowing she wasn't gonna last long, she wasn't built for pro wrestling. She needed the psychology for it.
@snakeshadows6993
@snakeshadows6993 Ай бұрын
Ronda could have used that anger and added it to her heel persona. A part of me would have actually appreciated it. As a wrestling fan for many years, I know how fickle they can get. I often find it hilarious when someone snaps on a disrespectful fan and shuts them down. Because sometimes they just ask for it. But Ronda definitely couldn't handle the pressure of being a wrestler. Wrestlers are gonna receive cheers and boos. Any smart wrestler would use that to their advantage. Of course, there can be a difference between receiving boos as an effective heel, and receiving boos because the fan base doesn't like you. If it's the latter, there's definitely a problem. The problem was that Ronda wasn't cut out for professional wrestling. She truly didn't belong there.

Ronda wants attention and money because it’s run out, simple as that. She’s been complaining about both the WWE and the UFC. Fact is ever since she lost to Holly she hasn’t been the same and the audacity of going at Logan for getting special treatment (which he isn’t compared to her) like have you seen the guy in the ring? He’s hands down better than 70% if not more of WWE talent if you were to compare them at the same experience level and the fact that his segments and clips go crazy viral on social media and the fact that he’s a natural on the mic - Ronda couldn’t do none of that at a decent level yet still got the push to be women’s champ multiple times and she is complaining like fuck off bruh 😂

Comparing Logan and Rhonda is like comparing Christmas to the 4th of July. Logan came in and fans weren't buying it with him being booked as a face, so learning from past mistakes like pushing Rousey as a face even after fans turned on her, the WWE did a pivot and let him be himself. "Putting her into NXT first could have eased her into it." She was never going to have the patience for that -- she was already a mega-star (albeit a shot one) coming out of the UFC and was never going allow herself to be in a development league. I'm sure the WWE was also aware of her personal character flaws and knew they probably only had her invested & capable of pop for a brief window before she lost interest & the fans caught on to her annoyingness. So, as you allude to, Vince was going to exploit that window of opportunity before she inevitably fizzled.

I blame WWE for the whole Rousey thing but just not for the reasons Rousey says. For a while now WWE has pushed having part timers with huge star power comes in and be placed directly at the top of the card. For a few it were people who didn’t care one bit for the business but instead the paycheck. Rousey was a huge MMA star with 0 pro wrestling experience who was pushed to the top. Look at what happened with Paul White when he started wrestling, pushed to the top and by the time he got to WWE wrestlers had to carry him and he got shit for it because he didn’t really know how to wrestle. Rousey was the same way. Now could Rousey have put in the work and over time learned to be a proper wrestler? Yeah but WWE was the one that pushed her even without any experience and they sure as heck didn’t have her bust her butt to get experience.

I've always wished Rowdy Roddy Pipers' memory could have been carried by Becky. She gets it, she lives it, she improves it. Maybe if they had taken more time with Ronda, got her trained beyond her ground game maybe she could have put on a more enjoyable performance.

Read Becky's book...she very honest....but just sooooooooo emotional. Cries a lot. Really feels like she's deserving than most people. Totally admitted that the end of her's and Charlotte's friendship had to do with what she (Becky said) yet went about with a "whatever" attitude rather than apologize. She comes off as never being wrong about anything, and anything that happens to her character is something that's actually happening to her. Meaning she's not really seeing the difference between the two. Just being honest. And what's up with the make-up on her? It's like she has a permanent filter happening. Anyway, Rhea Ripley is the future... Becky better get used to it.

pretty polite person, sure they didn't necessarily handle Rousey well in the WWE, but she didn't do any favors for herself. There's more than a few WWE wrestlers who successfully transitioned from MMA fighting to the WWE, but her own ego stopped that.

The difference is guys like Logan Paul, Bad Bunny and Pat McAfee is that they were wrestling fans first. So when it is time to perform, they know how to get there. Whereas for Ronda, WWE was like something to fall back on when her MMA career was fizzing out. She never showed any passion for the business or a willingness to learn to get better. Contrast her to Shayna Bazzler or Lola Vice, who keep improving and respect the business.

I like Rhonda Rousey. A true fan can never turn into a hater no matter what. You know whats really sad about this sprorts entertaiment industry? The fact that fans are no more than cashcows and they like it. It doesn't even matter what form the product will take, they will always buy it. It's necesarry just a heel turn to use this words, and it's done, you allready hating the guy you acclaimed 5 minutes ago. It's sick if you think that, you cannot be yourself, have issues, go to dark places like normal people, because you are just a product. Obey or be replaced. Rhonda is and it will be one of the best fighters in the world, and 89% of the "universes" wouldn't stand a chance aganist her.

The thing about professional wrestling and those that pursue it is that there's a big distinction between someone who sees it as a means to make $$$ and those who had a boyhood dream. The reason Rhonda is disliked is because in both UFC & WWE, she was an attraction and was treated as such, even backstage. Once she wasn't hot $hit anymore and wasn't being catered to feed her ego she couldn't handle it, so she started running her mouth.

Honestly it's hard to think of any wrestler that reached the top purely on wrestling skill without having a mixture of look, gimmick, charisma and mic skills as well. Angle would have failed if he hadn't turned out to also have decent speaking skills to back up his technical skill. Benoit might be the closest, in that he kinda just looked like some guy and couldn't talk for crap but was fire in the ring. To an extent maybe Bret Hart or Asuka too?

But isn't that what Becky said? I'm sure there's tons of practice for Logan and Bad Bunny. They knew what they were getting into and delivered insane spots or promos. They're also working with the top talent to guide them. People got what they paid for. Ronda was doing this relatively weekly (meaning everything's more on the fly). On one hand she's fighting frickin Nikki Bella/people that couldn't possibly be a threat and on the other hand she was boring af the majority of the time.

I think Ronda was too cocky for her own good and couldn't humble herself. After her MMA loss, she left that business and eventually joined WWE. She started off well on her first run, but her second run didn't really click. It felt like because of her name, she felt like she should be handled better and given more opportunities or something. She didn't try to improve when she returned. She was trying to compare her run to Logan Paul's. The difference between the two is that Paul put in the work.

I'm not disagreeing with her, but there are many people out there who don't have to hone the craft over years and years to be great. I can't stand Logan Paul, but the dude looks like he's been in pro wrestling for years. Naturally athletic people who aren't braindead can do wrestling. Whether they would WANT to be on the road and doing that night in and night out is a different story, but simply the ability to do it? Plenty of talented athletes could do it without having to grind for years.
