I will never forget the match Ronda Rousey had with Charlotte Flair - I believe it was a Survivor Series - and Charlotte was supposed to be the heel going in with Ronda being the babyface. Charlotte started laying into Ronda with a kendo stick and the crowd was cheering it. But what I remember the most was a brief interaction Ronda had with a male fan on her way backstage where I guess he said something to her, probably that she sucked or something, and Ronda told him he wasn't a real man. I remember seeing that and instantly knowing she wasn't gonna last long, she wasn't built for pro wrestling. She needed the psychology for it.
@snakeshadows69934 ай бұрын
Ronda could have used that anger and added it to her heel persona. A part of me would have actually appreciated it. As a wrestling fan for many years, I know how fickle they can get. I often find it hilarious when someone snaps on a disrespectful fan and shuts them down. Because sometimes they just ask for it. But Ronda definitely couldn't handle the pressure of being a wrestler. Wrestlers are gonna receive cheers and boos. Any smart wrestler would use that to their advantage. Of course, there can be a difference between receiving boos as an effective heel, and receiving boos because the fan base doesn't like you. If it's the latter, there's definitely a problem. The problem was that Ronda wasn't cut out for professional wrestling. She truly didn't belong there.

I'm sure there are quite a few people in the locker room and among the fans who think a KZbin star who didn't pay his dues for years in indie undercard matches doesn't deserve to be in a ring. The opposite side of Paul's early boost is Big Show's long decline I think--someone who deserved better booking, treatment, and writing, but was overexposed early on and then used as a jobber later. When Show was turning heel and face constantly he was often getting crapped on at every live event, taping, and PPV unless he had some interesting angle like with Shaq and Mayweather. Meanwhile a guy with Show's history in and eventual dedication to the business deserved more pushes and to have the belt put on him a few times. It was like his size and athleticism were totally ignored. He was a huge guy but came across as a slow witted paper tiger. I don't blame him for going to AEW. At WWE he was treated like a decades long middle manager who would never get to move up. I feel like he was taken much more seriously in his early WCW days before he gained all the weight and started having to job.

I blame WWE for the whole Rousey thing but just not for the reasons Rousey says. For a while now WWE has pushed having part timers with huge star power comes in and be placed directly at the top of the card. For a few it were people who didn’t care one bit for the business but instead the paycheck. Rousey was a huge MMA star with 0 pro wrestling experience who was pushed to the top. Look at what happened with Paul White when he started wrestling, pushed to the top and by the time he got to WWE wrestlers had to carry him and he got shit for it because he didn’t really know how to wrestle. Rousey was the same way. Now could Rousey have put in the work and over time learned to be a proper wrestler? Becky has hit the nail on the head. This was absolutely accurate. I would only add that Ronda didn't do a lot for MMA, Dana White, and the UFC top brass protecting Ronda made her, while Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes destroyed the myth. Ronda has always been an entitled, narcissistic little brat who could never accept she was ever at fault or to blame for any of her downfall, and her foray into professional wrestling was done through the lens of financial gain, not a love of the business. That is why Becky earned her respect and push, and also because Becky can cut a promo, she can wrestle, and Ronda can do neither. Rousey's spoilt brat, throwing her toys out of the pram routine owes to her lack of maturity and surrounding herself with sycophantic 'yes' men and women all her life rather than those who know how to nurture talent even through tough love. Ronda Rousey will struggle to get work anywhere, and it is all her own fault because of her awful attitude!

I like Rhonda Rousey. A true fan can never turn into a hater no matter what. You know whats really sad about this sprorts entertaiment industry? The fact that fans are no more than cashcows and they like it. It doesn't even matter what form the product will take, they will always buy it. It's necesarry just a heel turn to use this words, and it's done, you allready hating the guy you acclaimed 5 minutes ago. It's sick if you think that, you cannot be yourself, have issues, go to dark places like normal people, because you are just a product. Obey or be replaced. Rhonda is and it will be one of the best fighters in the world, and 89% of the "universes" wouldn't stand a chance aganist her.

Sounds like Ronda handled the WWE like she handled the UFC.

Ronda was raised by an abusive narcissist who got it into her head from an early age that failure in any way, shape or form is the most shameful thing imaginable, and made her a frail, brittle person who wasn't able to deal with any kind of interaction that wasn't fawning worship.

Ronda spent more time making that weird choice of eye makeup then being better a pro wrestler

Should have got the Jade Cargill treatment. Bring her up to speed before her debut. Difference is, at least Jade seems to respect the craft. Ronda has never had respect for it.

She's right but t the same time she can't really be saying anything against wwe since they're giving her everything that more than half of the womens roster will never be given.

The thing about professional wrestling and those that pursue it is that there's a big distinction between someone who sees it as a means to make $$$ and those who had a boyhood dream. The reason Rhonda is disliked is because in both UFC & WWE, she was an attraction and was treated as such, even backstage. Once she wasn't hot $hit anymore and wasn't being catered to feed her ego she couldn't handle it, so she started running her mouth.

Any women in wrestling these days who DON'T aspire to look like comic book characters?? Ugh

She was given everything from the WWE and just couldn't cut it. Never bite the hands that fed you lol. She should do what Matt Riddle did and hold herself accountable, thank Vince, the WWE and the fans and move on.

Pro wrestling is a different art.

I'm not disagreeing with her, but there are many people out there who don't have to hone the craft over years and years to be great. I can't stand Logan Paul, but the dude looks like he's been in pro wrestling for years. Naturally athletic people who aren't braindead can do wrestling. Whether they would WANT to be on the road and doing that night in and night out is a different story, but simply the ability to do it? Plenty of talented athletes could do it without having to grind for years.

Becky was one of the most boring female wrestlers for years that was just a place holder that for some reason they gave titles to etc. She eventually became the Man from what I can tell "I stopped watching except for around wrestler mania once in a while" years ago and because of the success she has now thinks it was all due to passion/perfecting the craft. Thing is Ronda came in a huge star that made people feel some type of way They messed up by not making her a heel after a couple months of raking in her fan base. They needed to do with her what they did with Brock Lesnar instead they normalized her and then she needed to not tweet or whatever that is calle 😂 Ronda is a polarizing figure pre WWE. That should have been monetised better and can only imagine if she went there before the two big losses

I will always wonder how someone with a martials arts background failed to understand that wrestling is a craft. Yes, we all know it is scripted, but if you are not careful you can injure your co-workers, it takes a lot of time to master the moves, and even if you practice a lot there is a chance of really hurting someone, ask Big E. Rousey should have realized this, and worked harder, she could have had a long career in wrestling
