I honestly don’t get what people think winning a battle royal does for someone? Has winning a battle royal ever actually established anyone as a star? Winning the belt in just a random battle royal is not that big a deal. Ya know what is a big deal? Beating Becky lynch. Liv beating Becky and cementing her new heel character is a way bigger rub than just winning a battle royal. Plus Becky, similar to mox, is just a perfect person to stabilise the division after such a big injury. Liv will beat Becky, and Becky will make he look amazing

Shes week two into a new Character, shes being presented as and where she is, by HHH. Give her time to build this character, the last thing she needs right now is to reach the goal with this character and just end up back as the top champion, feeling like a midcarder holding it until the real star comes back. You want Liv to be that star, shes gotta chase for a while, banish the memories of this "weak" wrestler who just got fluky wins, and build herself as being on the level of similar sized women, like Becky, Iyo etc who are believable when then fight people like Nia, Rhea etc. Becky has stolen her moment now, you can just tell the Rhea story, with Becky, keep building Liv up, when she wins, back comes Rhea and we arent all thinking shes just holding it warm for her

The fun finish to the BR would have been Chelsea Green in a corner somewhere and have Nia and Liv be the other final three and they eliminate each other making Chelsea the new champ. This tying in with the draft and how no GM wants to draft her but she is now a champ so they want the belt but not her would have been a fun little comedy thing we dont get to see as much of any more. She gets to hold it for a week or two then drops it after the draft shakeup.

The issue with Priest, when Rhea is the star with a bunch of losers, anyone in that Balor/Priest mould will automatically slip nearer to the losers. You then pull Rhea out of that group, the main building block for Priest was standing next to Rhea with the same belt. He needs to get out and fast, bring Balor with him. Priest leaves, Balor has a match versus him, Losers cost him, Balor leaves too

Triple H need to build the women division like his black and gold women’s nxt. Now it’s too many random ass tag teams. Definitely needs a mid card title on the main roster and they should’ve left the tag team belts in nxt. Smackdown have all the star power for the women’s division(Bianca, Bayley, Jade, Io, Asuka, Kairi, Naomi) raw only have Rhea, Becky, Liv, Nia that’s it.

The thing with Becky winning is the inherent difference between her and Rhea: Someone beating Becky for the title is much more believable than anyone beating Rhea. Whoever beats Becky will boost their momentum and will be more impactful than them getting beaten by Rhea. Imo, Liv dodged a bullet last night 'cause when Rhea comes back, she's just gonna get beat. Even when Liv came back a couple of months ago and made her revenge tour against Rhea known, we all know that there is NO CHANCE in hell that she'll dethrone Rhea. Now if Liv beats Becky, that'll somewhat put her in the same level as Rhea as both would have that accomplishment. Now, does that change the fact that her ass is gonna get beat by Rhea when she comes back? No. But, instead of the previous plan of having these two feud w/ Rhea coming out on top & leaving Liv with nothing, you'll now have Liv who'll come out of this feud still looking a credible threat since she has that win over Becky and a story that, despite being always the runner-up, she CAN win the big one. That way, when they decide to have her go for the other title or introduce a midcard belt or need someone to feud w/ another main event-level talent or help establish younger ones, they can rely on Liv and the momentum/credibility that they've put on her. Victories against Becky still means something because she has been booked strong all this time, only losing when it's time to elevate a new person. People were complaining about her beating Tiffany last year but at that point, Tiffany was already a made star and we were all just waiting for her call-up. No one could touch her at NXT. And when it was time to establish Lyra, someone who didn't have any momentum behind her, Becky dropped the title.

On the point of Ilja joining Imperium, one new detail I like about this “new era” is that faction members can change and still have the faction name. Something WWE has never been known to do. Damage CTRL & Legado Del Fantasma being recent examples. It’s the trust of this process that I believe gives people reason to fantasy book Ilja joining Imperium.

This battle royal was a stark reminder to me just how much weaker the Raw women’s division is than most everything else in WWE. Without Rhea it really is Liv and Becky and no one else. Nia still isn’t good at most things but is getting pushed because she doesn’t look like most women’s wrestlers, Shayna is pretty much just a generic tag wrestler by this point, and everything else either feels solidly midcard or long term pet projects. In fact that’s kinda my biggest hangup with Raw at the moment. All the divisions sort of feel like “we have a very small number of truly big feeling stars and a bunch of midcarders who feel about 5 rungs below them on the ladder.” Without Punk, Seth, or Cody it really is just Drew, Gunther, and Sami and not much else. Chad Gable is getting built but he’s still a little ways away from being ready to beat Sami, Priest still feels as insanely midcard as he did before the cash in, Jey feels so lame and like a midcard guy being fed to a new world champ to boost their numbers, and Sheamus just came back and could use a little run to reestablish him before he’s back to form and that’s it. I want to see people succeed, I want Raw to be everything it can be (and I say that as someone who is still very much an AEW guy), but as it is right now it sort of feels like the B show. Hopefully the Draft levels things out a little more, but to me Raw is the glaring part of WWE that shows for as good as it’s gotten under Triple H it’s still not perfect. Hopefully time proves me wrong.

Here’s my fantasy booking pitch for Becky’s run: Have her hold the belt bolstering up the division the same way she did with the NXT belt. Have Tiffany Stratton challenge for the WWE womens championship and lose then have her win money in the bank and cash in some time on Becky. Let Tiffany hold the title until Rhea gets back

Prof Dan Lay-the-facts-on-them-son, I totally agree with you. I am always asking myself why is it since the conception of the battle royale gimmick and the understanding that going under the ropes is non-disqualifying, up to now no one has thought to go for tables, ladders, chairs, kendo sticks, even ring steel to amp the action. For example if a Chelsea Green cannot in kayfabe beat a Nia Jax, why not get a steel chair to equalize the match. Imagine someone going psycho (kayfabe) with a weapon on an absolute monster - for example Tozawa to remove a monster like Omos because you want to protect the aura of the monster- he's so good he couldn't be removed without eating multiple steel shots- something different. otherwise 90% of battle royale contestants will always look stupid and lost in the shuffle. Having a TLC spot in the middle of a Battle royale means everyone can have atleast a spot and make that spot tell a specific story.

They could have done something more to crown the new champion, but I think the plan was to get it done on this episode because there is gonna be some champ drafting going on. Could have done a 1 night tournament, could have been a single multiwoman match, but I think this was fine enough.

Priest is like taker, great presence and in ring work but needs a gimmick that doesn't require great mic skills. Once they can capitalize on the presence with him, I think he can work in the ME. He also has an innocent face which is an obstacle tbh, maybe cover part of it or give him a scar.

I actually prefer Becky winning... she can go on a mini 6-10 week run with the belt and at the end have Liv win... Liv will be all happy and gloating in the ring only for Rhea to IMMEDIATELY hit the ring and hit a Riptide... but here's the twist... Rhea doesn't win... have Liv not even an underhanded way just have Liv win the match I'm thinking Summerslam to really solidify Liv as the top star.

I have been a fan of you guys for awhile. But I have to say Luke playing "devil's avocado" is getting painful. It comes off as lazy and you are not saying what you feel but you want to cause debate that is not there. This was incredibly painful during the Dynamite show. Luke basically tied himself in knots going on about playing it as kayfabe. Then he would finish but it didn't work but just playing devil's avocado.

I love watching y'all, I really do but you need to realize that, while yes, the WWE is 90% responsible for the perception of their stars, y'all (y'all being people who are big creators that have a huge following) are also partially responsible for how we view these performers. When all you do is dump on people, it shades our opinions of them. I'm not saying "Don't give your opinion!!!!" I just think y'all need to understand that your words carry weight. For example, I have been a Cody fan since Legacy. I've always thought he was great! But never followed his indie work because at the tail end of his career in WWE the first time, I heard channels belittling and demeaning him. It changed my perspective. That's on me! Do people not remember how Becky didnt fight for a title for the entirety of 2023? Then she goes up for the title at W40 and still loses? Shes not over pushed whatsoever. Sure she wins a lot, but they keep her a star without making her hold the belts. Her last main roster title was the tag belts with Lita. Last single's title was the NXT championship which she used to put over Lyra. She deserves it

I get wwe hasn’t built up other women like Becky and Rhea, but a tournament or even a championship scramble or something like that could’ve gone a long way in letting us know the new champ is someone they will build up (like Liv or maybe someone who has a lot of upside like Zoey Stark) so just because the other women aren’t built up doesn’t mean you couldn’t then start with the methods I mentioned.

With Rhea going off injured Becky is the one star to steady the ship Liv is a great option for the story But a Draw is a Draw However WWE should really build their Women's Division because currently it's way taller than wide which isn't sustainable if a Star gets injured or takes time off otherwise

Becky was the only choice there's no other star power for the women on raw. Nia is trash and Liv is just a dollar store Alexa Bliss. They need to build up more of the women and not just put the title on someone new to have their first title reign just be a transitional one. I honestly didn't mind Becky winning because I actually have some faith now in WWE'S booking and feel they will do right by liv. I still, however, believe that Becky winning the NXT title was the dumbest decision ever and made no sense. Thank God Tiffany was talented enough to recover from that.

Triple H’s booking of the Raw Women’s Division has been a complete misfire overall. He’s had plenty of time to build it up and just, hasn’t. And now instead of something interesting, he just throws the belt back on Becky (because frankly he’s also not a Booker who takes risks either) three weeks after Rhea beat her clean. Also the finish itself was just sloppy regardless of who won. There was never any tension since we saw Becky go through the middle rope, so she was never in any danger of elimination. It just made her opponents look stupid. And she was booked like Superwoman at the end as well.

I think I’ve figured out why I don’t get Becky Lynch. It’s not necessary the entire way they package her but it’s just her move set doesn’t work. The “loves to fight” gimmick works but she can never cleanly do the man handle slam (which was clear from the botch with Liv on the apron). The powerhouse move set she has is like a record company trying to turn a blues artist into a rapper, it just never quite works.

She doesn’t have a powerhouse move set. The Manhandle slam is often on the person that is taking it. Half of the roster struggles to bump for it well. Dakota, Bianca and Lyra sold it great.

Well if half the roster can’t sell your finishing move than that’s a problem, a problem for your biggest star in the women’s division. Becky also couldn’t do it to Rhea at their wrestlemania match.

Could’ve done something interesting with Roxanne Perez tbh. I thought that’s where we were going bc of the triple threat on NXT. Yes, she’s not been on main, but if you have her as the last entrant WITH the NXT belt, I think it would’ve been cool for the two belt visual (especially since she doesn’t have to eat a pin to lost the NXT belt). Becky’s not hogan, but it was the boring route. It IS better than All Elite though, Luke. It’s not perfect, but a woman’s angle has been the leading piece on the RAW review two weeks running now. Twitter was all over the fact it should be Liv before the match, people couldnt see why Becky was the better choice, no matter how much i protested. So..... Liv's revenge tour is hardly a tour if week two she wins the belt, sure you can say she accomplished what she wanted too, but wheres the story. Week 2, job done, character dead, then what. Liv has always been positioned as a cowardly, lucky winner, plenty of wrestlers her size are portrayed as scrappy or having endless heart, she needs that build, and her new character needs time to cement itself Becky is a credible champion, and can easily slide into the Rhea role, Liv can just be annoyed she stole her moment/spot, rather than injuring her Becky is a smarter choice than Nia, Liv can credibly go toe to toe with Becky, with Nia, its back to being ragdolled around for 20mins until a roll up I get peoples fears, strike while the irons hot, but its not like Liv had this amazing showing in a match and fans got behind her, HHH has given her a character and storyline, so this is by design rather than ignoring fans. Give Liv time to build her character, last thing she will want or need is just another run with the belt where she feels like a midcard. Putting it on her now, risks that

Can't say I have enjoyed any of her previous title-runs so this one fills me with little hope especially if the plan is for her to lose to Liv fairly soon to build the Rhea feud . They need to stop treating every promo segment trying to be the Dr. of Thuganomics, where they each try to beat their opponent in a rap battle. And the worst thing is them trying to get the crowd to sing each of their catchphrase, EVERY single promo. Uso did it, New Day did it, Sheamus did it, it gets repetitive and cartoony. Start talking like real people would talk, Sheamus tried to do it, but then they suddenly reverted to "you're fat" "and you're stupid" like 10 year olds. At least Chad Gable had a good segment. If they continue like this, their hype will die pretty quickly, I see a lot of 2016 RAW in this, some good ideas, a lot of old issues, 5/10 show
