+beckyholden , that was beautiful!! I am a huge fan of Philippe Karl and started doing his in hand work with my mare. My coach also is a fan and very good at the in hand work. I too have been through a lot with my mare, have had many people tell me to sell her, I have considered it but she would require a very specific home. I am persistent and don't give up. I'm not sure what you've been through with your horse but you two look lovely in the video!

Tell us here a little about the horses history - it might help people understand what is possible to be achieved from great difficulty and encourage them. :)

just discovered your video, and wauw, I´m impressed! Both you and the horse looks so happy and relaxed, and there is so much "air" and space for the horse to move in. Way to often the horse is just cramped into a knot, so it is a real pleasure to watch this! :)

Becky this really paints a beautiful picture. How long did your ridden exam presentation take since the video is only 12 mins? Was it like demonstrating a normal training session in the school? Did you present to the music on this video? The connection between you and your partner is palpable. A nice gift to share with the rest of us. Many thanks.

It is nice to see a happy horse who is moving forward, not overbent, on the verticle but not behind it and quiet hands and aids with reins that aren't cranking the horse. Other than maybe a more active walk this was very nice to watch! Well done. Judges need to reward this kind of riding.

Lovely, happy, forward, attentive horse! Not the flashiest mover, perhaps, but that's not the point is it? So happy with his rider, and vice versa. And so good, too, to see no noseband on the bridle. I've been saying for years that if you need to strap a horse's mouth shut, perhaps you're doing something wrong?

but in the half pass the horse is not trotting regular in its hind legs, and rythm is in classical dressage the first step of the education, never loose the rythm .....sorry to say that ....and i wonder why students of Mr. Karl or he himself are talking about Legerete and being friendly to horses but use always the sharp double bridle ?

I've always been taught that's not how you hold double reins (I'm not sure of the spelling, i know all these terms in spanish haha) but idk is there a reason why she holds them like that?
@teresaruth3522
@teresaruth3522 8 жыл бұрын
Yes there is a reason - look up Phillipe Karl and Legerete. It is called the French way and according to Phillipe Karl is really the only way to hold the reins that allows the rider to easily combine or separate the rein functions. Many famous riders including Nuno Oliveira and James Fillis used this method.
