And now you can allow that arm to float down only as fast as your eyes close and you go down into a deep hypnotic trance. Thats right.

Great stuff James! By the way- i used your arm levitation idea in which you instruct the person to lift their hand ever so slowly and then asking them to wonder, in the midst of the arm rising, wether it is they who raise the arm or is it floating all by itself.. Genius manouver! Thanks. It's great fun to explore these mind body connections with your great ideas and attitude!

Elad Einav That version is good too... I use this one when I want to connect people to the power of thought and ideas, and the other when I want to introduce people to a sense of being part of a ‘bigger happening’. (That’s a bit abstract, I know 🙂)

Hello James! Just watched a couple of videos and I must say they're great. I'm a hypnotist and NLPier trained with Bandler. These videos make so much sense. While I express my gratitude, may I ask for book titles that you have apparently shared in one of you videos please. I'm not able to look for it. I know one of the books is The Rainbow Machine. Please put up that list of books somewhere or as a reply to this comment. Thank you so much.

so i am a Hypnotist and I loved the video. I play with this when people say things like so your a hypnotist. I have had both amazing responses and flops as well. In my technique of hypnosis I use lots of visualization. If i see that spark in their eyes I ask if they would like to play a mind game. I then go into the placebo and how the mind can lead the body will follow. Then i do your routine, i do tell them to use their imagination and really see their hand raising, feel your hand moving like your mind wants it too and so on. would it be safe to say its almost like a suggestibility game to see how they respond hypnosis?
@TheTrippnotist6 жыл бұрын
Sorry for the delay replying - I've been recovering from flu and bronchitis for the last two weeks so not been on top of things. I am always looking to see how people are engaging and responding (I tend not to think in terms of suggestibility). people are engaging or they are not... responding or they are not. I want to be able to monitor this in real time and troubleshoot as necessary. Much of the time, hypnotists reduce responsiveness through framing that has *some* people become motivated to impede the process. A good set up is 'hypnosis is simply a process of suggestion and what a person's mind creates in response to that suggestion... there is no mind control, just a creative response that you can become more or less absorbed in depending upon your choices... so just let your mind create whatever it creates in response to the what I might suggest... and see what there is to discover.And it doesn't even matter whether you call it hypnosis or not"

James- awesome video! As I know you are also a parent, my own kids are fascinated that I am studying and learning hypnosis and are often eager to want to be experiential subjects for "magical" things like arm levitations. It's a blast connecting with them in this way. Any advice as to how you've applied hypnosis to parenting? We have kids around us in my home almost 24/7, and as parents want to influence our kids and friends in the best way possible. I've read Monsters and Magical Sticks which I found really helpful, but more for trauma and therapy. As a parent I'm curious to your view and direction or reference to further learning on how to apply hypnosis to parenting as I've found very little in the field on this topic. Keep up the great videos!

Tough to answer as what is right for one person is wrong for another! But, some good contenders might be: Monsters and Magical Sticks by Steven Heller and Frogs into Princes by Bandler and Grinder I’m going to be putting out a free course at some point, probably in the next couple of weeks on the fundamentals of neurolinguistic and hypnotic change work, so keep your eyes peeled!

Hey JT I’m currently a HPD student and love the profession but feel I’d benefit from learning rapid induction’ and perhaps being mentored along side my learning. Should I stick to what I’m currently learning or do you think it’s valuable to learn other hypnosis forms simultaneously? Hope that makes sense....
@TheTrippnotist2 жыл бұрын
Hi EE. I think the answer to that is down to personal choice. For me, I like to learn from multiple sources because I get so much from the process of integration, but I've seen others get confused by this. My suspicion is that it comes down to whether you are more 'internally referencing' or 'externally referencing' (with the latter preferring to learn from a single authority and approach, and the former preferring to cast the net wide).

Hi! I have been doing card magic for a long time and I recently got interested in hypnosis too. I started with simple "hypnotic tests" like the "balloon-book" test. I'm 16 and I tried this with many of my friends. I wanted to say that, despite explaining a bit of how hypnosis works and that I've learned some kind of it, almost all of them got hypnotized easily. Some of them also got hypnotized multiple times. How about this?
@TheTrippnotist5 жыл бұрын
Book and balloon is a great place to start with hypnosis as almost everyone responds and it doesn't have any kind of 'hard challenge' component. My kudos to you for getting stuck in and doing it!
@lucota906 жыл бұрын
Would it be fair to say that hypnosis is the mechanism behind the placebo effect?
@TheTrippnotist6 жыл бұрын
Lucas Takejame The short answer is ‘yes’! The administering of a placebo is an act of communication - the seeding of an idea that influences belief and therefore thought.
@lucota906 жыл бұрын
I would like to read a long answer about that, I like this view of hypnosis but I see some people bothered by this association. Don't know the reason actually, besides maybe a more restrict definition of hypnosis. Thanks for the reply, Cheers

Hello, Sir! Thank you very much for sharing this video. I watched and picked up all my ears to this video very carefully and very NERVOUSLY. Haha. Why? Because English is not my mother tongue. My listening to English is not very good. Fortunately I generally understand each word you say on this video. So is it possible to turn on Automatic CC for people like who are non-native speakers of English as well as for those whose listening to English is not good? Second, I think what you talk about is "Ideomotor" which is applied to ouja board, correct? I think magnetic fingers or palms use the same way so they work. I am not a hypnotist, and don't have any practical experience about this at all. Last, I have been wondering why some big-names in Hypnotic industry have big figures. It is said hypnotherapy can lose weight, but why don't they programme themselves? Do they don't care or any other reasons ? I don't mean to disrespect any of them. I assume that they can make it. However I just don't figure out why. I am just curious. Sorry if this is not relevant to your video. Your replies will be greatly appreciated. Have a great day! :)

Anton Slavik It’s impossible to know ahead of time exactly how someone will respond (hypnosis is influence not control), so the only way to find out is to do it and see what result you get! Good luck with your experiment!

There might be a clue here... there is no 'IN' hypnosis (or 'under'). For many people, their misaligned perceptions of what hypnosis is (due to ideas from movies, TV and some hypnotists themselves) keep them from engaging with it in useful and productive ways. Maybe this is whats happening form you?

So there's now such a thing as hypnosis, a person merely let's himself be hypnotized. Moreover a person just hypnotizes itself, basically. Frustrating...
@lucusrose2762 Жыл бұрын
If I may, your statement refutes itself. If there is no thing as hypnosis, then there can be no such thing as the subset of hypnosis labeled self-hypnosis. This video explains that the hypnotist is neither controller or conduit of a controlling force. The subject is the true force working upon themselves. Thee hypnotist is the teacher, expounder and tour guide introducing the subject to their own power. The methods used are the same any teacher in a classroom uses with the students, didactic speech and experimentation. Strengthening what is learned is done through approval and reward. Know you know why hypnosis scripts mention pleasure so much. I have never seen disapproval used during hypnosis. This could be damaging to the subject and, if you are dealing with multiple subjects, lead to loss of rapour with the others. Don't forget, they can hear you. What I have seen, in event of a "failure", is for the hypnotist to place blame on themselves and move on. Never allow the subject time to dwell on it and effectually block themselves from further progress.
