@@brookss_ From the tier lists ive seen, Starlord is flying (wahey) under the radar big time. If the aim is locked in, I really don't see him losing a 1-1 if timing dives correctly. Plus his guns have quite a crazy amount of range, so applying pressure on an off-angle is so powerful because they have to do something about it, even if they just run away or move. Plus his ult is insanity. Big fan of him tbh but he isn't easy.

@@danieltemori8726 try to abuse the invincibility frames for attacks like iron man's ult, dr strange ult, magneto ult, and other one-shot ko attacks. other than that, use it mainly for reloads but also for mobility. the cooldown is short enough for you to do a little of everything

Coming from OW and looking at it from a tracer pov, one thing to add abt shooting tanks aside from ult charge is that u can gain access to the back line by applying pressure to tanks so you can move up in scenarios where you’re having trouble reaching them. (playing front to back) B lining straight to the back line can be hard if they’re good. I’m still new to rivals so obvi it’s not one to one but I thought it’d be worth mentioning

there's another thing, I've been maining him, and if there's a healer down, you can actually focus the tank, because you'll melt them, with the 3 mags they'll fall quite fast. I've been having a blast when a tank comes after me, and I just melt them, they don't expect it most of the times.

the most important part of this hero and every hero, is have good aim. PSA to all those watching guides for some reason, the top 500 are top 500 not because theyre cracked at certain heros, its because they have good aim. Hela is broken ONLY if you have good aim, same with hawkeye. You can follow this guys video by the letter, but it will mean nothing if you dont have aimbot/ really good aim.

A tip for anyone that gets annoyed at the Ult targetting the wrong person when they're clumped together; There is a setting for Star Lord specifically that lets you shrink the invisible circle to make it easier to aim the ult at who you want to kill.

Just a quick note to add: when using your ult be aware of enemy cooldowns that would shut down your ult. Mantis ult, Luna snow ult and cloak and dagger bubble severely hinder your ult dmg. Try and bait them out. Also best to ult if you have a dive tank to mitigate attention from the enemy team and make yourself just a bit less vulnerable.

There is some crazy dash cancel tech I found in the beta but i haven’t seen anyone using it. You can cancel the dash and carry its momentum in any direction, legit can Tokyo drift on people it’s insane. It changes the game for his dueling and carry potential because you can’t hit him.

How to do that dash cancel?

@ change the dash to hold instead of default, allows you to control how much you want to input. When you dash and let go of the shift key immediately you will jolt forward with momentum. You can do it up or sideways in any direction. If you change direction as you are carrying momentum from the cancel, you can do some crazy movement. If you’ve played apex, it’s similar to a two strafe in movement effectiveness. Watching people try to aim at me is so fun. Legit fought a Hela at 9 hp she was full and completely juked her and won the trade with the right clicks as well.

5:33 tbh shooting tanks is fine as most characters as most ults are a big game changer, honestly i play star lord as a mix of backline dpser and a flank dps, and it works out well bcus I get to use 3-6 ults a game depending if its control point or payload

Honestly I love Star Lord’s E ability (though that’s partly because my aim is lacking, lol). I’ve used it to finish off both tanks like Groot, and flying characters like Iron Man, though obviously that depends on the circumstances and getting cocky about it will get you killed. Just a reminder that you can change the ULT aimbot sensitivity (how close to the crosshair it aims) - this is super useful when ulting in a semi-clutter of enemies and the aimbot just focuses the tank even though u hover the support behind them, etc.

Everytime i watch videos like these, having a lot of expierience in OW, I can just say with confidence, this guide will not work for 90% of the players. The very first clip is a proof of this. He already had a winning team in that clip. Why? Because imagine you jumping out in the open like that, even having the same aim. Your team would be off doing some random shit, like 4 of them chasing spiderman in the back, 1 tank would be pushing with you, you jump in for a cleanup and all 5 of them immidiately focus fire you down. GG.

in the keyboard area where you change keybinds, in the HUD area in the first line there’s a crosshair section that has a tab in the first area to IMPORT a crosshair code so you get what I have in an instant. That’s what the code is written for :)

intentionally aiming in game all the time is my best idea for that. experience obviously overruns it all but intentionally being conscious of your aim and how to improve it mid fight and learning how professionals use psych to better predict and therefore track their enemies makes it WAY easier when they predict correctly. this is based off average player movement or how higher elo players typically move or if lower elo players typically move in straight lines you lean toward not moving your mouse so much, etc... things like that :p ill make an aim guide down the line when i have more research down and understand the topic better and how to structure that kind of a video! do you care about aiming on starlord or aiming on another hero or in general in this game?

When playing starlord I noticed a kind of “dash chain” by starting boosters jumping and stopping repeatedly and it seemed to be faster is that true?

I use it but I use it situationally. I don’t believe it’s faster I think it’s good for micro movements and more specific short bursts of movement to be more evasive if you DO need to shoot back in between. Often you just use rocket boots to zoom away and come back later or smth and I’d say it’s best to just use it without tapping it if you’re doing that :) I haven’t noticed it being too significantly faster or slower than leaving it running
