WOAH! This is UNREAL! I'm piano beginner, only know some boring melodies and tried to find some basic chords and YES, I did see some of those other videos which were confusing. I put this tutorial video playing from laptop and practiced left had along with you, paused video for rythms, and at the start, tried those four cords but it seemed that it would take few months to master those.... UNTIL you broke those down and provided tips! It's mindblowing when you understand the structure that moving fingers inside the chords makes all the difference, it's EASY. At the end of the video I already know how to play these and now I only need to master these and add rythm. Simply amazing! Thank you so much!

Thank you for the free lessons, and your encouragement! You are awesome!

Beginner over here! I actually needed to slow down the video a little bit, because I couldn’t tell your hand placement on the right side. Once I slowed it down I was more able to get the correct finger placements! I feel a lot better about it now, and I’m ready for the challenge! So far your explanations are really helpful, and you give clear direction. Thank you for making these videos! 🤗

IMPORTANT: I know a lot of people want to shut off the video RIGHT when I show the notes of the chords early on. I get it, it seems like "Ok, I can just practice it now". This is a BAD idea, most people that do this learn it incorrectly and end up with SLOPPY habits that they have to unlearn later. There is a very specific way to learn and drill it in, and that's why the video's 20 minutes long instead of 3, so please watch the whole thing I'm begging you lol. Oh, and if you didn't see the link for the cheat sheets, here it is: bestpianoclass.pages.ontraport.net/superhumansignup

Zach, thanks for taking a step-by-step approach to learning piano. I've played brass instruments (in Treble Clef) but piano, especially working in BASS Clef, with the left hand, I thought would freak me out. I found my concentration was on the right hand, and did not really have to think about my left hand, it just did want it was supposed to do. Your method was spot-on. I'm stopping now and gonna sleep on it and I can't wait to play these patterns again tomorrow. Lovin it, Curt P.S. My wife played piano all her life. And I would like to learn piano to honor her life, and in celebration of our 36 years together and to once again have piano music back in my home.

I'm practicing muscle memory, which I have done with other things (not just piano) and it REALLY WORKS for anything. The next phase for me is to do "money" I am going to stop for the evening, as I have been playing for an hour or so. You made a suggestion, which is to stop if you aren't getting it. Stop and go to sleep. I'm going to use that suggestion at this phase. I do that every time I'm practicing piano because I don't want to get frustrated or burn out. I think you should make that suggestion more. This is great, thank you so much!

Started playing the piano but stopped due to.........some reasons. I had forgotten a lot of songs but your videos have really drilled them back, and it's stuck no matter how many years goes by without me playing😄😄

Hey there? Coming in from about a week into the cover quarantine. I've decided that everyday at 7, I'm attending piano class. This video has been instrumental (like what I did there? me either) in my learning. Thanks for posting. nWhat would be a good follow up video?

You're the best teacher I've had! Got it! My fingers are a little stuck but I guess it's nothing that a few days practice won't cure. Thank you!

This is a fabulous tutorial. I love the way you scaffold the skills. AND don’t confuse beginners with music theory. Adult beginners just need little chunks of information on a need to know basis. So very many great tips and very achievable if your advice is followed. Thank you.

Well my friend, you are very selfless for offering such incredible lessons for those who want to learn how to play the piano. I have adult ADHD and I have always had a difficult time learning, based on the way some people teach. However, you are the very FIRST person who offers solid hacks and ways to solidify the notes into our muscle memory. You teach the way I learn best. It can be very difficult for us neurodivergents to take advantage of courses and lessons if they do not cater to the different ways that people learn. I am 55 years old and I learned how to play the piano from a friend, back in high school, when I attended the School for the Arts. I clearly remember that she taught me in a very similar way as you. Thank you kindly.
