I have no idea why "Tulip Skirt" was wedged in my brain, but it's actually called the "Trumpet Skirt"-- so, my bad! Anyway, I hope you all enjoy my inadequate description of putting in pockets. What are you working on this February?

I absolutely LOVE your channel! I hope you get real popular! Need more ladies sewing vintage plus size fashion! You look fantastic!

Thank you so much, you're so kind! I don't intend to get too popular because that feels like a lot of pressure, haha. But I enjoy what I do and I'm glad you do too!

It looks so nice! I've been wanting to make a shortened walking skirt for a bit and even have some fabric for it, hopefully I'll get to it before spring!

This is a great length for me for everyday, but you could easily shorten it depending on your height and preferences.

Yes, it definitely blends really well into modern outfits at this length!

the last walking skirt i made was with a cotton twill i think? in portuguese it's a "Sarja" and it is so easy to sew with 😍 specially after sewing with linen, wool and mistery shifty fabrics

Linen is still my one true love, but I probably need to do a heavier version of this one for winter wear...

I am wanting to make an Elizabeth Bennett (2005) dark brown dress the one she wears in the opening scene. I would like a lighter linen fabric that would be good for summer but I am new to sewing and don’t know where to get a quality fabric other than Joanns. Any suggestions?

I bought this material (linen/rayon blend, very light) from a small local fabric shop, it might be worth looking to see if there are any independent retailers in your area. They will probably carry a more unique variety than your local chains. I order a lot of linen online as well. Fabrics-Store and Destash are two I've used in the past, but I'm always on the lookout for other sources, so I check in with other creators frequently.
