The FR and WHR are possibly two of the greatest heritage railways in the world 👍👍👍. The investment into the the two railways are beyond belief. Everything is always kept pristine 🥰 Superb job. 👍

what about trying to also help the local farmers with freight, it could be a second income stream, brining local goods to the statio to the countriside and vice versa, imagine every day having fresh cheese on a market outside the station

Delighted that the FR/WHR are considering electric loco/s. STR introduced 2 x 150HP BE locos for passenger trains from 2017. These were 2 (of 4) re-gauged from SG Clayton BE locos ex-TFL. The other 2 were available from the STR a few years ago, and maybe still are? While the STR budget at the time didn't run to new batteries, the locos proved to be powerful and really useful in service ................ and they were designed to be charged using Solar Pv, installed as part of the same "HLF ~ Conservation in Contemporary Use" Project from 2014 - 2018. Many thanks John for a very interesting video 'talk'. Over at the Severn Valley Railway, they are helping with the development of a hydrogen cell powered loco using a de-engined class 08 shunter. Have any of 'our' people seen or heard about it?, may be worth investigating? Also, what about regenerative braking?
