Seri, two hexes for buffer wherever your pups reside. Count the pups spot as "0" then count the hexes from it. You must control the hexes in all directions of 1 and 2 to lessen the stranger wolf dangers.

His siblings got in the den and he like froze for a moment. Then bear was right at den, fierce parents trying to protect pup with everything they got. Little Birch finally ran away from bear paw, around the ridge a bit of the den but stayed there (thankfully). His grown up form has black two scars across his nose/muzzle.

I'm all for Persephone having had a traumatic wolfhood. Maybe she witnessed her entire family be killed by Stranger Wolves? So because of this, she's always on the lookout and is hesitant to become too close to her mate and pups because she could have this fear they'll die and she'll be left on her own? Anyway, loved this episode. I was waiting for it for hours lol 😆

Seri when I watch these I like doing this fun activity in games like this where I choose a pup (or whatever baby depending on the game) and "become them" and basically their like the pup I'm hoping to survive and become the heir, I'm Demeter in achillie's pack and Marigold the second in Parsleys pack! I hope they both survive!!!

I think with Persephone being a loner, and Achilles being the runt, the easiest way to hunt for the pups would be to hunt elk if at all possible, because there are a lot of them and if you pick the right one, it can be an extremely easy meal. What I do, is spook the herd, and pick from the elk at the back (mostly the females) because they are almost all at about 25% health

Here's a tip guys for finding dens, I know its hard to find them in the winter but for the coyot or fox underground dens look for a slight hilly patch of snow and that area has less plant life around it looking more open and another thing the darker the den icon on the top left corner is the closer you are to it just investigate very carefully around the area or look in scent view if it pops up for the den scents. You can spot the ground dens in the distance if you catch it yourself but some of them are just almost on a hill but choosing those dens are more prone to cougars and believe me they come in so close when you least expect so be alert

Reverie I don’t think she/he could have time to do that if the coyotes were already about going to charge at the pups and try to kill them to eat them as a snack because she/he and her/his mate had to chase them away from the pups so they wouldn’t come back that fast. If they do come back make sure to at least try to bark to bring them in the tall grass and try to kill the coyote like Siri with parsley did.

My favorite pup is jalane because of his color he’s just so beautiful as a albino wolf. By the way white wolfs are very rare in wolf quest so I recommend if you get a albino pup try defending all of the pups but try to have all of them survive but make sure your white pup doesn’t die because they are very rare.

I could see her like a young black wolf. Where she was chased out of her territory, her grandparents were killed leaving only her mother and siblings. She wasn’t able to properly learn how to hunt so she is still learning the basics or she just doesn’t want to get too attached and loose what she loves

Oh boy Seri I have a story to tell you all! Today I played WolfQuest with my Wolves Peregrine and Naomi, and their 7 pups. I was moving to a new den. On the way, I was holding one pup in my mouth, (one of the weakest one’s) and the other pups were following. 2 coyotes HAD THE AUDACITY to hunt my pups! I panicked. I was literally shaking because I had to slowly put my pup down, which took several seconds, and THEN woof. They were inches away from my pups! Luckily, I chased them off before they could kill a pup. Then, as I continue my journey, and as I’m approaching my new den FINALLY, it’s says “You must fight dangerous predators off before you select a den.” I immediately tried to woof the pups in grass, but there was none nearby! Guess what? The predator was ANOTHER coyote. It ALMOST caught my pup Basil. IF I HAD WAITED ONE MORE SECOND, I would have lost Basil. I killed that coyote, but forgot that my pups still weren’t in tall grass.. 🤦🏻‍♀️ They tried to follow their sprinting wolf dad. (Peregrine) THEN... when I turned around I saw their name tags and looked at the pack stats, they were never hidden!!!! Then one of my pups, Wilder, wandered away for a whopping 10 minuets in game time. I tried to woof my other pups in the grass so I could go find Wilder, but there was none nearby. I had to manually pick up each pup because they were tired from following me chasing that coyote! I put them into a far away patch of tall grass, found my pup, put it back, THEN go to the new den, dig it out, and woof them in there! 😩 It was so much stress and work, and on top of all that, I was exhausted and they desperately needed food, and my territory was SO LOW! I had to go fix territory and hunt a mule deer with NO STAMINA! But now they are well fed, happy and safe again.... OMG that took forever to type and the experience gave me a heart attack!

Watching Demeter's insane adventurous personality gives me an idea for a story that involves your pack and my pack to live in Slough Creek at the same time! My wolf, Hayai (It means fast in Japanese), is the daughter of my first wolf Osprey. Osprey lived in Achilles' den and Hayai lives in a coyote burrow near it with her 5 pups, but she likes to adventure and see her old den again. And the story idea is where when the Achilles and Persephone are away and the pups are in the den, Hayai will sometimes visit that den closer to the entrance- but not go inside to disturb the hiding pups. Hayai isn't one to attack other wolves on her own- only chase them away from her own den. But then one time Demeter ventures outside and meets Hayai and Hayai ends up becoming like a second mother to her. And now I will write a small paragraph inspired by that The black she-wolf noticed the small, brown wolf leave towards the lake- along with his seemingly shy and independent mate. She waited until they disappeared into the tall grass and woofed at her mate and pups, knowing they would be safe since she was barely going far. She then darted towards the forest- slowing down when she nears the large rock where she was born. She breathed in, exhaling slowly and gazing affectionately at her old den. The... Rocky Tunnel? That was what her mother called it, she thought. She padded up to the sandy part infront of it- which gave a large section of safe play area for pups. She sat at the overhang of the valley that lead into the grassland. She sighed and looked over what her mother called the Mule Deer fields- since it was filled with the ungulates- along with rabbits. Rabbits that reminded her of her fallen brother, Ritoruhea. His name meant Little Hare. He was the runt, and succumbed to the same disease that infected her sister, the biggest of the litter, Schuchu Gou, meaning Rainstorm. Her mother had liked naming pups in odd languages, but Hayai preferred themes around fast things- for example, her pups were Springbok, Sailfish, Cheetah, Hummingbird, and Wildebeest. Some of the fastest animals she knew about. None of which seemed to live in Yellowstone. Her mate was ironically Peregrine, and he was somehow faster than Hayai. Back to reality, Hayai heard soft footsteps behind her. She turned, worried it was the parents of the pups that lived here. But no, it was one of the pups themselves. "Hello!" The pup squeaked, tail wagging. Hayai blinked, her ear twitching.

I don't know if Persephone is hesitant... She just seems vigilant to me. She goes and patrols... and watches over everyone from the distance to be on the lookout for danger. I too think she maybe had it rough growing up and is trying to make sure she does what she can to protect everyone. Yes she's independent but so is Achilles sister. She doesn't follow around her mate doing what he wants huh? *lol* I think the reason Persephone wasn't helping as much with the elk is that those other wolves may still have been around and she had her mates back. As for Achilles I think he's always just been biding his time to prove himself. I never thought he was truly weak or anything.

Demeter seems like her mother. I’d like to see a wolf maybe a bit on the sterner side then playful. Jalan seems pretty playful and a goofball like his father. He seems a bit like Lunala, Moondancer’s pups. Hades is definitely a trickster, maybe a social mate or a sterner mate would do good for him.

I got so excited because when I heard you say that you were gonna name a pup hawk that I suggested I almost screamed and then I saw Artemis then I was thinking "did I suggest that name" then I looked at the comment that I made on one of the videos I wanted to scream that was my first experience of getting one of the suggested or two pup names getting chosen so thanks (I am not sure If anybody else suggested hawk or Artemis as names)

Back again with more dream theories! Our sequence this time is: crow/raven on a moose antler, huge flock of crows/ravens on some dead trees, cougar hunting a deer in a fire, wolf pup exploring the woods, and some wolf pups among some crows/ravens. One thing I noticed about Achilles dream this time is that almost every single part had a crow/raven in it, and in the absence of a crow/raven, there was always a wolf pup OR something hunting related OR a combination of these things. Then later, when he is *hunting* for his *pups* a *crow/raven* appears just as he makes the kill, take a tiny bite of food, and flys away. So what I’m thinking is that Achilles has a very strong connection with crows/ravens and with dreams! Ok ok, sounds weird, but Hera me out! His dream *and* what happens after his dream are quite strangely similar if you look carefully. Both his dream and his time after include three main things: hunting, pups, and crows/ravens. In the first dream, a raven is standing on a moose antler, which to have ended up on the ground, must have been taken from a dead, or hunted, moose. Many more ravens come afterwards on some dead trees, near a place that looks quite a lot like where Achilles caught the *deer*. Then in the next dream, a cougar is hunting a, guess what, *deer* in a fire. In the next one a wolf pup is wandering at night in a forest, much like Demeter did that same night, then right after that you see *three* wolf pups with a flock of ravens in the same place with the dead trees. Keep in mind, there are *three* of Achilles pups that keep wandering off. So, I think that the Achilles can slightly see things of the future in his dreams, *and* that he has a connection to ravens, in the sense that they help him find what and where to hunt through dreams, in exchange for a little bit of his kill. I believe that he also gets a bit of a reassurance that if any of his pups were to wander off, they may be lost to him, but that his old friends the ravens would take care of them.

Why do moose live in pine and/or spruce forests if they eat softer leaves from trees such as oaks? It's something that struck me as unusual while reading the amazing field notes at the end of the vid, most animals that I know of live at least close to where they can find plenty of food for themselves and their young. If You know the answer to this then plz do let me know, I'm really curious.
