Man I really do regret being a big introvert as a kid. I made little to no effort to make friends and make them hang out outside of school. Now as an adult, making friends (especially finding people my age) is such a hard thing to do and its going to get harder as I get older. I really wish that I didn't wasted so much time not developing my social life in my carefree days. 😢

Wait until you have to set up utilities at your house, and you have to pay “one-time read fee” of $65 for a technician to come and look at your gas meter for 5 seconds and write down a number. Or a “title transfer fee” of $80 for the home builder to transfer the on-paper “rights” to the gas from them to you. Little things like having to take off work and wait around at home for an 8-hour window of time waiting for the internet technician to set up your WiFi because they can’t give you a specific time they’ll have somebody there. Then they forget you’re on their schedule and have to set up another day next week, where you have to miss work again with no reimbursement of any kind for your time, you’re still gonna pay full price because that’s just how it is

As an adult remember to make a budget pre plan your spending as much as possible. It’s good to see where all those hours you put to work go to financially and prioritize savings first. Saving even $50 a month equals $600 at the end of the year.

i will always prefer being an adult. i like having actual good and stable mental health as well as resources, i love being in a time where social media and remote work are easily accessible. the world is very connected and it helps me me glad to be alive and present. all you have to do in life is live in your timeline, do your own thing, enjoy the process, and enjoy yourself; everything works out on its own accord and timing. just be present, and also know that you’re early asf in life so keep being alive

enjoy & prep. try to at least know what general work atmosphere you prefer and if a degree or trade school is a better path. All business administration degrees get paid the same, a prestigious one only gets your foot in the door easier. If you're uncertain and can't name a career/change too often either A. go to community college (cheaper & Forgiving) or B. Go into the work force. Also get your license while your in high school (even if you don't own a car) it's way cheaper. There are only 2 high school experiences you hate it or love it. If you hate it... bite the bullet, get your first job, learn how to survive as an adult, and -enjoy- make up for it in therapy (or college) If you love it you got good RNG & I can't help the lucky. I can't even fathom the idea of myself being happy in high school 🤷‍♀

Take it from a zoomer adult. I live on my own, all chores fall on me, I make my rent, pay off my credit card in full, and am left with maybe $300 (and that's the HIGH end for our age group) at the end of the month. That covers gas, maybe some groceries, and if I'm lucky, $50 of entertainment per month. I went to college bro, I'm making $60k at entry level and even then that's barely enough in this economy. I'm constantly tired, always stressed, and somehow making it all work out. I just need a break man...

It's important to remember that as an adult, you always have a free will. Don't like the job? Go work somewhere else. Want to go ride a rollercoaster? Just go, nobody's stopping you. Tired after work? Try cocaine and have some fun at the club. You're free, make use of that privilege. Also don't waste your money, save some up for future and some for fun activities, makes life much more bearable.

Word of advice, don't finance a vehicle. Just buy a crappy used one that gets you to and from work and your essential places. Don't travel unless you have at least 5k in the bank. Not trying to sound like a boomer, I made both of those mistakes in my early-mid 20's.

@@Omg10058it's only when you actually make it through it and you have a better grasp of adulting. People who are happy in being an adult have different reasons why. It could be a rough childhood and limit freedom to enjoy what other kids had like friendship, relationship, things they wanted or simply because their parents raise them right to be set out to the world. But I would say people's childhoods can vary among what type of parents they have. People who had a good decent childhood would miss it or hate it depending on the parents and their life situation.
