If you aspire to be an owner operator, purchase your own truck, and lease on to a carrier that only caters to owner operators. Companies that has both fleets, prioritize their company drivers.

Do owner operators get paid percentage? If so whats the %? Also heard there's dedicated accounts from California?
@CreteCarrierCorporation7 жыл бұрын
Good morning Carlos! Our owner operators are paid on a sliding pay scale plus the fuel surcharge, you can find more information in the link below. You'd have to ask one of our recruiters about dedicated accounts. You can reach one of the recruiters at 888-978-3571, they'll be able to answer any questions about fleets and the pay package. Thank you and have a great day! cretecarrierjobs.com/owner-operator/owner-operator-pay-packages/

You are not an O/O unless you have your own operating authority! You are an independent contractor otherwise. Subtle indocrination. The CDL is not a truckers friend. Modern day people need a word and help
@Prodigal12 жыл бұрын
If you have your own authority you are not an owner operator. You are a motor carrier just like Crete, Schneider, etc except you have one truck.
@normanmcneal36052 жыл бұрын
@@Prodigal1 wrong! Research it a little. Promise! If a truck owner has no “ operating” authority, he is only an independent contractor. Sheesh
@Prodigal12 жыл бұрын
@@normanmcneal3605 I am the owner ( truck paid for) and I am the person operating the truck. Duh! O/O and yes independent contractor. If you have your own authority you are officially a motor carrier. Read your DOT operating authority and your state’s IRP.
@normanmcneal36052 жыл бұрын
@@Prodigal1 refer back to original ICC definitions Hoss. I guess we can rewrite history, because we can. Operator refers to the holder of the operating authority, not truck operator. It is not hard to apply for operating authority, by the way. Nite nite, I’m 10 10
@Prodigal12 жыл бұрын
@@normanmcneal3605 I googled it reading multiple definitions. Got O/O for both. Not defined by FMCSA. Not wasting any more time arguing with you. If you got your own authority best of luck. I’ve got 33 yrs in and will stay put for another year or two . When FMCSA follows through with their asinine speed limiters proposal I will sell my truck and retire!
