This video made me respect Ayaka so much more.. I didn’t watch the whole series and only saw some clips, so I didn’t see how hard and how much she actually improved throughout the whole show. I thought maybe she got in solely for her visual, but her dancing and singing got so much better! I can see what JYP saw in her now. I do think that her skills need to be improved more, but she works very hard and has a lot of potential. I can’t wait to watch her grow!

I remember Ayaka's first performance in the regional audition, JYP made her pass because she has that Star Quality, but she needs to up her game and improve if Ayaka wants to debut, and she made her Promise to improve further. So many people are quick to judge Ayaka based on her visuals, and I agree at some point that JYP is attracted to her, but I also know that had Ayaka didn't improve and JYP never saw any growth in her, Ayaka would be disqualified in Season 1 already. For the longest time that i've known JYP with regard to his reality shows, he may praise a person for their looks but they need to back it up with skills as well. Fortunately Ayaka pulled thru and showed her extensive growth mission after mission, if other people are still not seeing that, then JYP and I already did. It is also a big help that she got great reviews from the trainers, which speaks of her attitude towards work. I really appreciate your hardwork and dedication Ayaka, you really deserve to debut and be a part of NiziU. The Promise was kept! Ayaka-chan Fighting!!! 😊💖

This really feels like a 2020 version of Tzuyu's story ngl. I've been rooting for ayaka since day 1 and honestly I had my doubts that she would even make it into the top 14, and then if she would be in the top 11 to not be eliminated, and even the final lineup. But each round she has genuinely proven me wrong. She may have caught JYP's eye at first through her visuals, but it was her drive to improve and hard work and dedication that ultimately JYP decided to debut her. Knowing from Sixteen and Stray Kids it seems JYP isn't only debuting idols he thinks are ready, he's also debuting the ones that have shown that they will improve. This is merely the beginning of her and NiziU's journey, excited to see whats to come!

One of the best things about Ayaka, besides her charisma, is that she is always improving. Every time you see her she’s better than the last time. She never really had a slump or stall during the show and I think that really helped her. I think maybe JYP was a little biased towards her visuals at first but really if she hadn’t backed it up with real talent and improvement during season 2 he probably wouldn’t have kept her in the lineup. Imagine how much better she will be by the time they debut after months of training

Everyone roots for the underdog, myself included. Even in s2, ayakas pitch was (to put it bluntly) very bad. And having to constantly be reminded of it from the coaches or from being groupmates with Rima/Miihi must be so difficult. I would have broken down honestly from feeling like a deadweight, but instead she only took it as motivation to be better. She improved so much but I still believe she has a long way to go (many idols do ofc). I hope they continue to train her well. Even the best idols started from the ground, so I hope I’ll be there to see her become a legend. Akaya fighting!

Nizi Project is like a JYP audition & training process except that instead of it being behind the scenes, it becomes a TV survival show for everyone to see. Has Suzy's visuals, Sana's quirkiness and was similar to Tzuyu (SIXTEEN) talent-wise. And, she has Sohye's ability to grow at a monster-rapid pace. More importantly, she knows exactly what her strengths and weaknesses are. She knows she can easily appeal to anyone, yet also knows she's lacking in her fundamentals. Honestly, its easy for me to see her achieve, if not surpass what Tzuyu has achieved with TWICE. Five years from now, if this comment and video still exists, I'm betting on Ayaka's massive success in the future.

I feel like Ayaka had it the hardest on her journey to debut. Many think she had it easy bc JYP biases her, but she worked just as hard as the others to get where she is now. She had the most lacking skills compared to the other members. People kept calling out jyp’s bias for her just bc of her visuals. And now ppl r wondering y Ayaka got picked to be a NiziU member when all she had were visuals and Yuna, Riria, and Akari had more talent. The thing is, Ayaka has charisma and star quality. Charisma is not something that u have to train for. And yes, she might have got picked partly for her visuals, but ppl overlook her dance skills (btw, I’m not trained in dance so I have no idea if her technique is well off). But even if Ayaka has the lacking skills now, she is still just a rookie! There’s plenty of time for her to improve just like Tzuyu in Sixteen.

TL;DR: She's just a 16 years old girl pursuing her dream. Are you haters so free to the point you cast away your good conscience and humanity to keep bashing a young girl and her dream just because your bias didn't make it? For once, just put yourself in good faith to give her a chance. The problem with visuals is that their efforts will never be the first impression for judging. Visuals are able to captivate audience just by looks and therefore, all efforts to make changes are nonexistent because they can only see the things that are presented to them. What JYP saw was more than just looks because it's only a superficial judgement. People who can't recognise Ayaka is because they are unable to look beyond her visual and assess her efforts impartially. What people saw in Ayaka's charm and visual are considered handicapped in assessment because it tends to side with prejudice. If that's the case, the same could be said for Nina because of her talents. Talents are considered handicapped because talents are gift which are innate, something that one is born with. That is also the reason why JYP mentioned that talent is not the most important, personality is the true reflection of an artist. You can be super talented but if your personality is rotten, you can't do well in Showbiz. I believe Mako is someone with no innate talent but her efforts here are genuine after 3 years of dedication in JYP. That's also why I say Ayaka should not be compared to any other members just like how we shouldn't be comparing the members themselves since their start lines are all different. If Ayaka is given a chance to train for 3 years, we would have seen a very different Ayaka. "Others might not see it, but as far as I'm concerned, you looked like someone who put in lots of effort." - JYP, it's always about determination. Just because a person with low skill level couldn't compete with someone who can sing extremely well like Nina, doesn't mean she isn't suited for a girl group. She just didn't had the chance to train her vocal the way some professional and talented did. If people keep comparing a gifted against someone who has no prior experience in singing, aren't we just as bias? It's like asking an university grad to take an elementary kid's exam and comment the elementary kid for being inferior to the university grad because she couldn't produce the same result as the university grad. Lastly, the eliminated members are because there are members who covered those roles. For people who questions on Akari, Yuna or Riria, please tell me something that Miihi, Rima and Nina couldn't do that they can. Visual is a matter of perspective and in that sense, Ayaka's visual stood out from the rest and that makes her solid 10 for visual. If Ayaka hadn't make it, the 2nd visual would probably go to either Rima / Rio / Nina. But as far as Ayaka is concerned, there's no denying the first spot for visual is her's. If your stand is that any members in the group including Akari can replace Ayaka for visual, then again, beauty is the eye of the beholder. JYP's assessment weighs more than what we see because we aren't from the industry in the first place. He's a veteran who is in the industry long before most of us were even born.

I've seen Ayaka from the very begining there is really something about her that shines all the time. Until we went to episode 2 of Nizi Project and see how dedicated this girl is. She knows what she wants to do and worked very hard for it. Some people bashing Ayaka's debut and saying Akari is more deserving. For me as an Akari stan since day 1, Ayaka is also worth it, she conquered everything to not get left behind. She made it and I'm very happy for her!

Ive noticed a bunch of people who wanted Akari to debut is blaming Ayaka because she's not 'talented', singing can be trained, great personality can't. Of course I wanted Akari to debut as well but don't blame Ayaka because your bias didn't make it, just think in the future how much she would improve, she's already doing great now compared to the start of season 2.

Ayaka was voted by JYP staffs for personality and got 1st placed. I have always like her because she is hardworking. it is so hard to find a person like her. I didnt mean the other trainees didnt work hard tho. I mean the hardworking person is always seen and grow rapidly.

Now that I watch her first audition video again, I really understand her worth. It's not easy for her to promise to work hard and actually doing it at that age, yet she kept her words and improve each stage, even Akari and Yuna with more talent didn't improve the way she does just proved that Akari and Yuna didn't work as hard as Ayaka with a 1 year long training period. Ayaka as a japanese speak better korean than any Nizi trainee (except jyp trainees) even when understanding korean is not a debut criteria just bcs she wished to understand more when trainers were teaching her, like, she doesn't rely on her beauty and trying that hard even when being told repeated it'd be hard for her to debut, that's sick mentality right there. I respect her a lot.

Not always, yes jyp put him to other trainees who have long been trained, also to grow and to put so much effort. Imagine yourself that you are newer one and put to the most talented, for sure there's too much pressure in your shoulder. Jyp saw her potential cause she has the star quality and you didn't see and find it easily around the world. Yes he want to debut ayaka in a good way cause he wants her as an idol, she can easily attract people and convinced to be a fans cause of her wonderful personality without being fake ir scripted. Jyp decided the best for his company and i think it isn't a bias choice to put her in mako's team of course to learn and build their talents. Talents can be improved but personality can't remember that!

Being good is not enough, growing is not enough. They'll need a whole package for the final lineup. The charm, the talent, the personality. I didn't say that the others didn't qualified, i watch the whole episodes "not hating" all of them improve so much but some have zero impact.

We need more people like ayaka. When people say they will get better, or they promise to practice hard everyday in order to succeed. 90% of they time they never really mean it. But Ayaka was kept true to her word and didnt break that promise. This is a fine example of someone that doesnt lie just to get by. Good job ayaka

To be honest I prefer talent over visual but ayaka is an exception. Like what JYP said once you see her you will still think her when you are at home. That kind of charm is really attractive and the hardwork she's showing is a testament that she deserved to be in the line up. Let's face the truth :- No one in a right mind will let go of such VISUALS. Kpop is not all about about singing you know, an IDOL is a singer/dancer/visual/entertainer/personality. After this video I realized that I was wrong because she really worked hard to improve and be in the group. Yes Akari deserved better but still we can't say Ayaka didn't deserve it cuz JYP picked her for the visual. Perfect example of why JYP only respects people who work hard: Ayaka started the show with looks and charm alone, but ended the show with real singing and dancing skill thanks to her outstanding work ethic. She deserves to be in the group and will only get to show off her charm even more as her skills improve further. A great story that should inspire anyone to put in maximum effort if they want to achieve their goals. You also can't teach personality, and idols are entertainers. It's totally unfair to criticize her for being naturally quirky and endearing when that just makes the group stronger.
