$500 a pack is ludicrous for a product full of sticker autos and manufactured patches. If you didn't hit that Exquisite Bedard/99 you'd have turned $1000 in "boxes" into about $75 of singles.

Bedard should be relatively frequent in this product, given the narrow rookie checklist (as you mentioned). But, we will hear a lot of venom by those who gamble and get hurt, even though they don’t fall into this high-end UD market segment. I mean, I’ve always loved the design of BD, just like I might appreciate the design of a $5,000 Italian suit. This doesn’t mean I have any inclination to drop $5,000 on a suit. The fact is, even those who are consistently furious at UD still enter group breaks, and ultimately spend more than the price of a box. We know this firsthand. And if they do hit a card, they often immediately flip it, incurring further fees and taxes, least of which your margin. My thinking is, we as consumers have complete control over one thing only: our own lives. …Under the assumption we are actually in control of our lives.

If this product were a $5k Italian suit, it would be a $5k italian suit made out of the Zubaz material from the 90s. This products feels like its trying to be high end (price, card stock, diamonds) and for kids (over the top and leaning on fun for designs) all at once. This set has an identity issue IMO.

I get what you're saying here and I mostly agree... I buy singles and a few boxes of opc platinum once a year to scratch the itch... That's it. But a high end product should have high end cards and sticker autos at $500 a piece is tough. Your point is well made though... People need to understand the difference between buying cards (singles where you can be confident of current market value if you know what you are doing) and buying boxes which are just expensive fancy lottery scratch tickets

I’m getting so tired of not getting anything Bedard from these boxes. Bought countless series 2, extended series, and synergy and nothing. It’s almost as if upper deck sends these KZbinrs the good boxes in knowing they’ll record pulling a Conor card so people think it will be easy and possible.
