Do you have any videos of these traps actually capturing live bugs? Something that shows how they crawl in, and how many, and how they can't get back up? Thanks for all these helpful videos. They're very informative. I hope you sell a lot of books!

I have successfully done both methods & YES SIR I am two weeks in with the co2 used the hanger but it blocked still worked bc it was about 10-15 that I could see - so now the second time the hanger formed the lining so now it will just hang 😎 in the pit fall! We don’t itch & our nerves are more calmer!!! & you saved my brand new couch in our brand new home!! This is a very traumatizing experience -I got them by helping someone out by letting their personal stuff in my home while they went on vacation-😫🥺🙄Being Kind&Genuine-and You Are A Blessing!!!! ✨🙏🏽✨👑✨✊🏽✨💯✨🧠✨

This trap works! What would make it slightly easier to set up each time is a measurement and sequence list. So I put this together from your info: A. 1 6oz Luke warm water 2 Add 2 tablespoons of Sugar (or 6 teaspoons) 3 Add 1 packet Active Dry yeast 4 Stir well - wait 10 minutes B. 1 Half Gallon (or 2 Quarts) Luke warm water 2 Add 2 Cups Sugar 3 Add contents of "A" & stir 4 Funnel into 2 liter bottle leaving 2" gap of air Connect the tube and check with a balloon over the end for Co2 production. I failed a couple of times because I did not use the exact measurements. Thank you for all you are doing to combat these bugs

First and foremost thank you, sir. The information you have provided is most welcome. I used a comprehensive approach in 2017 and completely eliminated a bedbug problem before it got completely out of hand. Washed everything, vacuumed frequently, applied DE on bed frames and along carpet edges. I didn’t know about CimeXa then. I put mattress covers and Kiltown on the mattresses. Where I couldn’t reach with the powder I sprayed a mixture of wintergreen isopropyl alcohol and tea tree oil. Needless to say all of this was a considerable expense but I was successful. I also had to eliminate fleas and we don’t even have pets. However, I only had peace for about a year and because bedbugs are now an ongoing fact of life they have made a new assault. I have seen bedbugs on buses and also once on the train. So I have begun again and this time I have ordered CimeXa and a powder applicator. I will make at least one of the (brilliant) yeast/sugar traps this time. The present problem is not serious enough to call it an infestation but bedbugs cannot be ignored. They have to be eliminated by all possible means as soon as they have been discovered. ⭐️⭐️🎖⭐️⭐️

Thank you very much Mr Williams for all the good info in your videos, I love your attitude. I would like to add a warning. My Dad passed away from silica dust in the lungs. The tiny particles of silica dust are very sharp and once in the lungs they stay there continually cutting up the lungs. My dad had this problem from a job he had and as the cuts heal they create scar tissue. According to his doctor eventually he had too much scar and not enough functional lung left which caused his death. Please emphasize to folks that breathing silica dust is extremely bad for you and they should always wear a good dust mask and make sure they or nobody else ever breathes the dust. Probably only and issue during application. Thanks again for your great work. Tom Lavelle

Thank you Joel. I used rubber bands to keep my tubing in the shot glass, a small one around the cap an loop of tubing above the cap and a large one around the bottle and tubing about a third way down the bottle. That only leaves about 6" or so of unrestrained tubing at the bottom which made it much easier to control. That was on aquarium tubing ... 8' lengths are sold at Walmart for about $2.00.

My husband and I have been using your bug traps since last October, a year ago, and the traps are working great! Caught 150 the first time. Anyone monitoring every 2 weeks and changing yeast method. Do have an idea on water, use distilled water, since tap water has chlorine etc. added. Also we've been using 'Diatomaceous Earth (food grade) and placing this in our doorways, under doors etc. After sweeping and steaming furniture, our recliners we use most, had Diatomaceous Earth around the recliners too! Did wrap our mattress, like you said, and lucky the bugs didn't get in the mattress. To go on, noticed some bedbugs in our bathtub, they were LOOKING for water! So decided to add water traps, using the same method as for traps and adding a little water in the glasses. It works, believe we're catching more now in water traps, still get some in the other traps too! At least we still have our home and all the furniture. Bedbugs are slowly going away. At least they're not biting us. Thanks for this great site!

yes your bowl pitfalls do work. My grandma use to use something very similar back in old days. But then they filled it with coal oil. NO DO NOT DO THAT LOL BUT you CAN fill the bowl with diatomaceous earth. It literally shreds them . And you dont even need the pitfall inner cup with that stuff. They usually dont make it across the DE. But I will say sealing the bed and cups stopped them in the bed.. As far as the cracks go. They will travel threw walls on wiring an pipes. If you can afford to do so buy tubes of clear caulk and SEAL SHUT any cracks. (this also helps roaches and other bugs from traveling threw ) Keep going your doing great things for people!! and tape shut any unused electrical out lets

I have been treating a house for bb's and found one in a cold air register. I decided to save it to show my friend who is working with me. I stuck it to some cheap duct tape and carefully placed it on top of a paint can at our work table. It was gone the next morning! It had crawled away somehow and I saw nothing left on the duct tape. I successfully transferred an adult bb to another room! And, had to start steaming all over again. BTW, upside down strips of masking tape have done an awesome job on roaches in some of our empty rental houses! May work with bb's too. Talk about cheap and eco-friendly! Suggestions: mopping the floor with bleach water mixture, vaseline around the rim of shoes or feet to prevent bugs from climbing up, bedding and clothes can go in a hot drier for 30 minutes without washing first, heat kills. Spraying body with rubbing alcohol, hot showers or bath, wet head also, kept bug free clothes in plastic bags. Changing bedding every couple days and putting in drier, kept bedding in plastic bags when not in use. Eggs hatch about 7-9 days, so even if the home is cleared expect a new batch of bugs to appear. Five once a week feeding to breeding age. The newt are so small can barely be seen, and are white before feeding. Bite so small look like a rash. Kept bed away from walls A blow dryer will kill bugs. Dry Ice traps works well. If any question of contact, change and bag clothes the minute arriving home and mop with bleach water.Also salt and baking soda mixture spread everywhere helps.

What if you put the pitfall and bottle of CO2 right in the middle of top of your bed and then just left the house for a couple days? Wouldn't the bugs still go up there thinking there's still blood to be had? Btw, you are a genius thinking up that wire coat hanger trick.

bed bugs can live for up to 1 year without food after 10 or 15 days they go in to hibernation .. eggs take days to hatch and another 10 days to starve.. . a few days wont solve your problem . traps will catch them and kill them and prevent reinfesteation
@daltonwade9441
@daltonwade9441 5 жыл бұрын
Knights Creative they can only in the right conditions, that is cold and with no host to feed on. In a normal home where a host is present they can only last about 3-6 months. If you can use the traps and a barrier to keep them from feeding, and there is the presence of CO2 to keep them “awake” and seeking a meal then they will starve in about 3-5 months.

So if they crawl off of the leg of the bed into the first white bowl, how are they trapped in the white bowl? They can just climb right back up the leg of the bed.
@toniamcdonald1838

The same tape needs to be used in the inside of the white bowl so that when the bedbugs come down the leg of the bed, they'll climb up and over into the pitfall with the other ones entering the bowl from the floor.

I'm not sure if anyone has asked already BUT, would it be possible and effective to revise your trap so that the hose is coming from a homemade mead, wine or whatever bottle instead of your yeast/sugar mixture. I'm just curious since I know tons of people who make their own wine and during the process it puts out tons of Co2.
@JoelZWilliams1

good question. Short answer, it doesn't work because the rate of Co2 production is far too slow.

@@JoelZWilliams1 Are you sure about that? I use to make wine with grapefruit juice and I always added sugar to it to make it extremely strong. Granted you may be adding more sugar than I would but I found it would just stop converting sugar to alcohol when it reached a certain % of alcohol. And then any extra sugar left in the wine would give you a banging hangover. I have an idea that your mix very well may not be converting all the sugar with any extra going to waste. Your powdered packets of yeast do start the process off faster and you are using alot compared to wine. A common 5 gallon plastic bucket once used to make wine would have microscopic yeast in its pours that dry. If you put just sugar and water into such bucket the reaction would start bubbling CO2 in about 1 1/2 days. Without adding yeast. The wine I made perhaps wasn't wine due to the higher alcohol content. If you drank a quart you would be knocked out for about 16 hrs. I would not advise drinking more than 12 oz or even less.

Might be a good idea to sprinkle some of that Cimexa onto strips of tape, and tape them (Powdered side exposed) to the bottom of the box-spring mattress. That should kill them around the clock for as long as needed.

The coat hanger can be replaced by "bailing wire" or some times called "tying wire" Its thinner than coat hanger wire and bends far easier. Anyone in the construction industry knows what it is. They tie rebar with it and fencing and tarps etc. It's dirt cheap. If you have construction projects in your area, ask them for a few feet of it. It's costs them next to nothing. Also, to keep them from using the tube as a ladder, just wrap some double sided carpet tape around the end of the tubing.

Normally the traps will remain viable for about 2 weeks if you keep it out of direct sunlight. You can always test to see whether or not your lure is emitting CO2 by stretching a balloon over the top spout. You know you're getting good CO2 production if that balloon swells up.

Your comment on DE? I have done the tests, putting the little buggers in a DE jar, then picking them out and putting them in a clean jar, 20 minutes they are dead. I actually did the tests myself on live adult bed bugs. It's my opinion, for $8 for 3 lbs food grade DE plus $2 shipping, effective cheap weapon to kill bed bugs.

Love your vidoes i do these methods myself and have been stressing this to my friends here in east Canada. Give people your videos to watch so i can educate them on low budget cost to deal with bugs. As where its 100s to have professionals come in to heat treat etc. My question to you is can i do the same method but instead of bowl use a sticky trap mouse trap flat on the floor under bed posts so the bug gets stuck in the sticky trap or is that a bad idea for bed bugs?... Only reason i ask is that. I heard you mention the whole in in trouble send alarm to the other bed bugs trouble and that ultimately would render the sticky trap non effective?... I do however love the yeast method as where they are attracted to your breathing thats why most times you find them near your head when searching your bed.
