People like what they like. When the item they have used and enjoyed for decades wears out often they can’t find anything comparable to replace it with. I’m so glad they can turn to you and get their item restored so beautifully and in working order again.

When people get triggered over the cost, I don’t think they realize how much time you are actually putting into these tedious parts. I’ve also noticed in your videos that you go above and beyond in every step to ensure the nicest most long lasting product possible. People pay these prices because they know that they are getting the best from a master craftsman.

I love the customers appreciation!!! I also love that he decided to rejuvenate an old piece that only cost him 500.00 to start with but thought enough of it to invest another 1500 to ensure he keeps the integrity of his initial investment rather then toss it and buy a new model (which by the way, LV's have gone all to hell with quality). I own a bag from the 80's that is also in really bad shape but the quality is so different, I keep her for comparison to yesteryear!

I replaced a broken zipper on a Vans Alien backpack for my Sisters co-worker. He asked a few people and they turned him down. So my Sister asked me if I could do it for him. I said I could try. Wow, I thought it turned out great. PS: He didn't know this..but I also replaced his broken strap at the top, that he tried to fix with 10 staples, LOL). It reminded me of you, Steve. I am truly amazed at how Steve resurrected my vintage, one-owner LV briefcase. As I told Steve, I've had it since 1982. I remember driving up to San Francisco in my Porsche 928 and staying at the Fairmont on Nob Hill. After speaking to a group of investors, my associates and I walked down to Union Square. It was there that I saw the LV briefcase. One of my people urged me to buy it. I did. Today, I am the proud owner, again, of that beautiful briefcase. Thanks, Steve! P.S. I'll send you pictures of myself, along with several of my Managing Associates from my firm, in front of Pasadena Courthouse.

Re the repair cost, keep in mind there is a strong resale market for LV and Steves quality repairs brings them to a point where the owner can resell it for thousands of dollars. There are people who simply buy old LV at low prices, repair, and resell with big mark ups. Of course Steve should get his fair share of the new market value. Also, to address the point of whether LV wants this or not, yes they do. People pay the original extremely high retail prices for LV knowing it has a resale value, and the used market supports LV's business model in this way by supporting the original retail prices. In other words, yes LV benefits too from Steves work.
