Bedroll & Haversack Camping in the 1800s, Bivouac Shelters

I built a bivouac shelter based on recommendations from Sir Francis Galton, 1872. This type of shelter is a temporary structure “of makeshift character, partly from natural materials found on the spot and partly from cloths [that you] happen to possess."
