It looks so tranquil and luxurious - I love it. My bedroom has large windows too, a light wooden floor, a king size bed, 1 (😄) side table and a wardrope... that's it. I've bought some pictures on Etsy (8 I think) but they haven't made it to the wall yet. To me my bedroom feels like a boutique hotel room and that's perfect when I can't travel.

I LOVE this. That room has gorgeous light and the windows are beautiful and have nice drapes that have some substance to them. The floors and the bedding all look so nice together. I like the art on the floor too. The only thing I personally would change is the bright pink sign above the doors. For me it sort of disrupts the calm serene feeling, buts just me. You did such a great job!!

Hi Carla. Much love from India. Wanted to share a few ideas just so it might help. In our Indian culture we do somethings every single day just like we brush our teeth and have a shower everyday. Immediately after getting out of bed we arrange the sheets and tidy up the bed. We dont let dishes pile up in the sink. We always do a basic cleaning of the kitchen aftr cooking by putting away stuff we used and wipe down the stove and counter. We clean the floors every single day because we keep our windows and doors open most of the time, so we end up having a lot of dust indoors along with the fresh air. Thats a cultural thing.... All this we do in addition to our career work which requires us to report to work at a specific time. We do have domestic helps. But the pandemic and lockdown taught us how to do all of that in a realistic manner without our house helps and without hampering our professional work. And honestly my house was cleaner and more organized than when i leave stuff for my house help to do.

You touched on something I think we all need to be more conscious of, and that's this idea that we somehow don't warrant having the very best things around us, or that we "save" certain things for so-called "special" occasions that rarely-if-ever-happen instead of just enjoying them. Drink your Dr. Pepper out of those crystal glasses, eat your frozen pizza off of your best china ---sit around and watch Netflix in something silky and gorgeous that makes you feel beautiful, right? If you can't get the headboard clean, consider making a slip cover that you can just pop on over the headboard to freshen it up. You could even use an organic white sheet to make it out of...I think that would add to the minimal, fresh look of your bedding and it could be pulled off and laundered every once in a while. You would need to create a template of the headboard but the sewing part would be pretty easy if you sew, or have a friend that sews.. Just a suggestion. I am considering doing this for my own upholstered headboard so I can have a couple different looks. Love your dog. What a cutey.

You could a always paint that headboard. Fabric takes paint easily. If the paint is too thick just add a little water.

I realised that I need order in my home to maintain good mental health so I have already become organised with an ordered clean home but even that being said you've inspired me not to ignore the hidden places in my home that need attention and take things up a notch! I like it!! Great job Carla. Looks fresh, clean and simple. The green stripe is perfect, very classic. Agreed, bedrooms are havens for rest. No TV or desk. We have soft colours, pillows, cushions and throws on the bed. My hubby, who usually complains in jest about having to toss numerous bed accessories off the bed before he can even SEE the bed, actually said to me a few weeks ago..."you always make our bedroom look so nice". I'll take that thankyou, made me very happy to hear that. Worth all the effort each day when it's appreciated.

For the headboard, if you aren’t using a carpet cleaner, you could use a wet dry shop vac. Start with very hot water, boil it and let it cool a little. Put a little bit of Dawn in the water and rub it on the headboard with a microfiber cloth. Then use the shop vac to dry it up.

I don’t have a tv in my living room but I do have one in my bedroom. I also have a desk with pc computer and cricut machines for my small business. The tv is my monitor for the computer. I watch tv maybe once or twice a week. I mostly watch KZbin on my phone. Love how clean and fresh the room looks. 👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Steam clean the headboard, or rent a carpet cleaner/extractor if you don’t own one :) keeping a lint roller on deck in your bedroom will help with up-keep, getting rid of dust, skin cells etc.

The best upholstery fabric cleaner is powdered tide(regular version), hot water and a microfiber cloth or white cloth that won't bleed color to scrub with. I've seen Tilvacuumdouspart use it on literally almost everything and all her house is very light fabrics. ✨️😉 The room looks great. And those sheet colors are perfect. 🤍🖤

we haven't had a tv in our rrom in 6 years and honestly, we have not missed it all. I do not have a desk in my bedroom. We have an extra bedroom in our house and we use it as a mancave for my husband. However, My work space since I work from home is in one corner of it.

Someone scared me recently, because I also would put new sheets on my bed right out of the package, but apparently you're supposed to wash them first because they come with a bunch of chemicals on them from when they were produced and packaged.

I switched my bedroom about 8 years ago, no TV, nothing but our bed, night tables for each of us, soft lighting. no clutter. dressers in the closet. Best thing I've ever ever done.

I love it! The way your bed is positioned is the most in line with feng shui principles I believe (no windows behind the bed). It looks nice there! I think I would switch the little wardrobe and mirror so the wardrobe is hidden behind the living room door and the beautiful mirror was on display to see how that looked. But I love it all! I have a white cloth headboard and the best way I have found to clean it is a teaspoon of powdered (has to be powdered) tide/gallon of hot water and a rag! Just scrub the wet rag over any part you want to clean. It gets the stops from where you rest your head right off! I also use that mixture to clean almost everything in my house! Hope that helps

Have you thought about refinishing the headboard, I saw someone just go over w/ material & then putting buttons on it, like to form diamonds, tye into the quilt, that would look nice, would give it a rich look, maybe like a dark blue color for a nice contrast, w/ all the white.

No desk but a TV. Need sound of voices to fall asleep, Put sleep timer on for 1 hour. For your head board use fabric cleaner the kind they use for fabric sofa's. WORKS VERY WELL.

I love the small changes you made. They are very satisfying and the room looks completely different and calm. For your long dresses, instead of tying them ,use a skirt-hanger clip it to the end of the dress and then hang it. It will keep your dresses wrinkle free.

Having ironed sheets is such a (easy) luxury. It’s my guilty pleasure that I give them to a professionel ironing service. You had many valid points in this video - thanks for inspiring! 🙏🏻💕For symmetry you could hang a mirrow on the left side of your bed with the same hight as the window.

What a fun refresh! You can add some fabric softener to a small squirt bottle filled with water. Works the same as downy wrinkle release! You can spritz your curtains and bedding to remove the wrinkles and keep things fresh!

Fung shei would absolutely not like the bed in front of the window across from the doorway. Glad that you moved it. And yes, bedrooms are sanctuaries and desks, tvs, computers, desks,, exercise equipment should be in other places if possible. One suggestion is that you wash your new sheets before using them. There is lots of chemical residue on them from the factory folding and packaging machines. One thing I would do is change out the bright sign over the door to the same words but in a more neutral colour.
