Robin covered his ear way back in the 60s, before they had the monitors for that reason. And humour has been part of them onstage since day 1 as kids too. Robin is particularly known for his wicked sense of humour.

This medley from this concert is just so my favorite and so unbeatable by anyone, ever. They were so awesome in this it just still blows my mind and brings a lump to my throat and tears in my eyes. I just love them and their comraderie and comedy and harmony is beyond compare!!!!

Many of the songs they did were from the 60’s, they recorded clear up through the 2000’s until MO’s passing. They learned to harmonize listening to the radio and their fathers Mills Brothers records. Amazing that they have written over 1000 songs, all the Grammy’s and awards. Writers, singers, producers…and they never learned to read music! Great reaction. Their music never gets old. There are some great songs on 5he album still waters ( 90’s or 2000’s), can’t remember off the top of my head.

Barry is still with us. Put out an album in 2016 and another of duets of classics in 2021. Turned 78 on Sept 1. They were 60’s, 70’s, and had a #1 comeback hit in 1987 called YOU WIN AGAIN, and really never quit working. Did you notice that Barry play in open D?

When the song Holiday was first recorded and performed at concerts, Mo played the piano which was the accompaniment for the other two singing. Later they changed the accompaniment to guitar and then he got to just "kick back" and show his sense of humor because he did not sing on that song.

Thank you for not interrupting the songs to comment. It’s good to hear/feel the flow and you did a good job of commenting. Their harmonies are amazing & beautiful, mostly thanks to Maurice’s ability to find that 3rd part in any register, as you referenced. Love the BeeGees, one of a kind.

Thanks for the comment. I tend to get complaints that i just sit and watch the videos and don't add anything but ive always tried to appreciate the track as a whole. I ve had to start commenting on videos during the song, at least in some parts but im not going to start pausing songs etc as that does break up the flow..

When not singing harmony or falsetto Robin and Barry often sang as 'one voice'. One good example is 'Alive' where Maurice is on Piano. Barry said in their natural voice Robin has the higher pitch register and he has the lowest of the three.

Dave, just came across your channel and immediately subscribed to it. Loved your reaction to their medley and totally agree with you. I can get lost in their music for hours and they definitely turn my not-so-good days into better ones, especially songs with my sweet Robin on lead. Just an FYI, they wrote r&b and considered themselves that. The songs that ended up on the soundtrack for SNF, were already written for their new studio album. And most of all, they HATED the term disco.
