LYRICS First I rise, then I fall Seems like you don't want the love Of this man at all And it's sure been a lonely time Right up to the time I met you So if you take a love like mine Oooh be tender with my love You know how easy it is to hurt me Fanny, be tender with my love, 'Cause it's all that I've got And my love won't desert me So you say to yourself, boy, You're out of your brain Do you think I'm gonna stand here All night in the rain? And it's the start of a love affair The moment when I first met you And if you want I'll take you there Oooh be tender with my love You know how easy it is to break it Fanny, be tender with my love 'Cause it's all that I've got And my love won't forsake me. With my love, Our love will seal it together. Oh, with our love, You made a promise You'll always love me forever. Be tender with my love You know how easy it is to break it Fanny, be tender with my love, 'Cause it's all that I've got And my love won't forsake me. Be tender with my love You know how easy it is to break it Fanny, be tender with my love, 'Cause it's all that I've got And my love won't forsake me. Be tender with my love You know how easy it is to hurt me Fanny, be tender with my love, 'Cause it's all that I've got And my love won't desert me Be tender with my love You know how easy it is to break it Fanny, be tender with my love 'Cause it's all that I've got And my love won't desert me Be tender with my love You know how easy it is to hurt me Fanny, be tender with my love

Flawless vocals and harmony. They were just starting to explore the falsetto with this one. They are in full gallop of their vocal range. One of my favorite songs of theirs.
@beeharbour8 ай бұрын
This is Robin singing falsetto primarily although Barry hits it too in the last part. Robin's dd not have that very slight shrillness that Barry's had to my ears.

i can’t help but feel this is the best song the bee gees ever recorded - it’s just so perfect. from the variation in vocal styles to that spectacular key change at the end, no other bee gees song compares to this for me personally. each brother shines in their own way on this track, and there’s a deep emotion that i get every time i hear it, i cant explain it. love it so much!!

There is something about this song that I just love. It's harmony? The falsetto? The overall talent? I really just rediscovered it a few years ago and it is my all-time favorite Bee Gees song. I believe they didn't perform it live because of the layers of harmony, and that is part of the reason it never made it past #12 on the charts. It's number 1 for me! And I agree with a comment I read earlier - why show all that carpet when you can be seeing Barry??
@billbranch19 жыл бұрын
AnnaBeth Rodgers I don't believe so.
@billbranch19 жыл бұрын
AnnaBeth Rodgers Maybe you do. My take on the matter is that there are so many harmonies, so much over-dubbing, so much depth to the vocals in the studio version, it would be virtually impossible to duplicate live. Even on this "performance," Robin often doesn't know which part to pretend to be singing.
@Bonita7729 жыл бұрын
I think its somewhere between harmony and falsetto. Falsetto was evident in the song "Tragedy". Remember Barry never knew he could sing Falsetto till this album.
