There is no comparable voice (then or now) to Robin's soulful vibrato. He was able to convey more emotion in a single song than most musicians can wish for in a lifetime.

What’s amazing is as Robin was in a coma in the hospital , Robins son and Barry sang this song to Robin. Then suddenly Robin started miraculously mouthing the words to this song and regained consciousness. He was able to live a short time after that so his family got a little extra time with him. ❤️I Loved The Bee Gees as a teen in the 70’s and still love their music and listen regularly as a 60 year old! The BEST rendition of this. This performance was the first time I'd heard it, and it just sounded so sad and painful and tragic, like only some experienced adults could know. I can picture someone standing outside late at night drenched during a downpouring rain, just standing there, looking straight up, with hot tears running down their face just as fast as the cold rain is. The truth is that I watched this performance on TV with my dad as an adult. He loved this song. My parents got divorced when I was little and it kind of destroyed him. I remember one late night with him sitting on a kitchen chair wearing his black leather suit jacket, his hair still wet combed back from a shower, and all of his clothes in a black trash bag on the floor next to him, with his eyes looking at mine trying to explain to me why he was leaving, with tears running down his face. I was 4 so I was confused. Then when I watched this with him so many years later, I realized how he felt way back then when he listened to it. Then I saw his face that night that we saw this; I felt his pain, *even though he was smiling while he watched it*. We were both very sentimental people. And one of the biggest things that we both loved that we had in common is that we both LOVED the Bee Gees. No one else we have ever known will ever get that. He never remarried again. He's gone now. And unfortunately, I now as a mature adult have gotten to experience something like that personally for myself. It's just life. Robin did a beautiful job at portraying beautiful tragedy. And ironically, *it makes me smile too* .

Wow! I am so sorry for everything you and your father went through. I think this song hits us all,in different ways and I do believe in our inner self we all have experienced such pain all in diff. Ways.I cannot start to began to tell of my terrible chilchood, meeting my mother at her funeral for the 1st time. How do we overcome such pain? Meeting my biological father at my mothers funeral threw me into unexplainable feeling that I think did ok holding all this anger inside, and attempted to instead put it down into poetry...pass 18 some years later those poems I never attempted again. Why??? IDK too old too many excuses? Yes! My life a BIG...?...I know good luck with that?? No one has been helpful to me all these years...everything shoved under the rug...everyone is dead or dying!!! Wtf??? Now what?

Oh, what can said about dear robin? Of course, the voice of an angel that turns you inside out, and like his brother, barry once said, 'no one sings like you", rob. That sums it up for me, and of course, the emotion and 'trance-like state' he puts you in with his god-given vocals. Truly magical. Definitely 'hall' worthy. An unforgettable piece of music by the master, robin gibb. "I started a joke". Upon hearing the first few bars, you know the 'magic' is beginning, and so it goes, and everything is right in the world for the next few minutes. Thank you, robin. Your 'famous" and we're grateful.
