You cannot empower anyone, and this includes black folk. You can take a horse to water but you cannot make it drink. Empowerment is a personal decision. You choose to empower yourself, and that starts mostly in the mind. Yes, access to resources can be a difficult obstacle to overcome, but where you have no resources, it is upon you to use your creativity and focus it on being resourceful. The goal should not be to empower black people. The goal should be to create an environment where anyone can achieve success provided they put in the right amount of effort.

All BEE has done is replace a select few of one race with another . BEE should have been a forging of a foundation that gives tools of empowering those disadvantaged by the past , but now its a weapon of discrimination that only benefits the ANC and it direct cardholders . Sadly the need for BEE has passed because the majority of south africas people are suffering. No matter the race or religion we need to rebuild from the roots up and create a country that welcomes all legal and moral international and local investment and opportunities . All the race based regulations and laws need to be ammended, and trust needs to be regained inorder for job creation and economic stability. Who care what race a company when it could bring prosperity to peoples lives.

Sir BEE is like the constitution of this country perfect on paper with not impact. I use to work as a BBBEE Analyst. The people who work for SANAS are under the payroll of those BBBEE verification agencies. This means instead of auditing and verifying that the policy is being implemented according they take the money and just push papers like everyone else in this country. If everything was done accordingly the policy would have achieved what it was meant to achieve. Trust me the people who are taking advantage of the policy are not the ones who implemented it. When you go through element by element of the policy, you can tell it was really meant to reverse the injustices of the past. But corruption is taking its course in ensuring that never happens. The same way that you go through our constitution and conclude its the best, so is BEE. BEE caters for skills transfer under the skills development element, but does that happen. It happens on the files that verification agencies audit every year but in reality its the oppose.

An even tide, raises or lowers all bows. We are all individuals, who each only get to play the cards we’re dealt in life. We’re all getting stuffed from this government. As a white guy, I accepted in school that I was at a disadvantage in the work place, so I chose a career where I could work for myself, as have many other white males in SA. And so BEE has had the opposite effect. It is not my fault that pressure forced me to “excel”, and we all get dealt different hands. My overriding philosophy, is that the world owes me nothing, it was here first. I did not receive any money for studies from my parents, everything that I own, I have acquired from my own sweat and toil. I know what it is to go hungry, and to go full, and to be happy in both. And from driving around I see plenty people of all races and tribes, homeless and begging. The social problem in SA is not black and white, there are innumerable shades of grey. If people are waiting for someone to lift them out of poverty, that will probably never happen, their only hope is to realise that they have to do it by themselves. ✌️

Complaining about Yesterday or Tomorrow will only destroy today, to truly live, you must be present, in the present. And in order to do that, you have to accept the here and now, and decide what to do with it. Everyday in SA the state becomes a little weaker, and private individuals are stepping in the fill the gap. My advice to everyone, is try to make the state less relevant in your own life everyday. If people learn to rely on their neighbours, perhaps the spirit of the village will return. And we stand a chance of fathering the broken and abandoned children this country has produced, and this nation might heal.

The educational system is weak compared to other countries for example i have a friend who goes to a private school but i went to a government school in cpt i was shocked when he said last a international student from Asia didn’t have to do maths homework because of how easy it was because probably he was taught early cause based on their educational system the things we learn in grade 11 they learn it in grade 7 or 8 so that how weak the educational system is south africans
