Really enjoyed your videos lately. Question, how often do you have autopilot engaged?

Probably 80% of the time. I always hand fly the approach so that if or when the autopilot fails I'm not caught in a pickle. I also hand fly in turbulence, or when noodling around locally at 3,000' or below.

was it scary when you first time flew in IMC alone?

777DEHME The first time I descended into a layer to land it had my attention and senses on high. I once flew with a pulse and 02 meter on my finger when IMC and my pulse was way up as if doing exercise. It is more stressful than you would think to do so.

Obvious utility and safety in IFR, no question. But it looks like about the most boring flying there is... :) Anxious to get my instrument rating for the former... not so much for the latter.
