The first session of the 2025 Ohio State University Extension Beef Team’s Virtual Beef School was hosted live in Fairfield County and also broadcast via ZOOM on January 29th. University of Kentucky livestock economist Dr. Kenny Burdine was featured speaker for the evening as he explored the economics of the beef cattle and livestock sector.
Going into 2025 with beef cattle prices at record highs, Burdine focused attention on answering questions such as can it continue, how long will the consumer continue to support these price levels, is it too late to consider expansion and is there a revenue insurance product that could protect cattlemen from a market downturn?
Listen in as Garth Ruff introduces the evening’s program and Dr. Kenny Burdine.
