My amazing wife recommended this on to me and we just had to give it a try. Enjoy! Recipe below!
Beef Sausage and Bean Soup
Ingredients:
1 - 1 ½ lbs. Beef Smoked Sausage, cut into ½ inch rounds.
8 cups Chicken Broth - I prefer the lower sodium broth
1 lb Great Northern Beans
2 Ham Hocks
2 Garlic Cloves, minced
2 Yellow Onions, Diced
1 cup Diced Carrots
1 cup Diced Cele
1 can (14 ½ oz.) Diced Tomatoes, undrained
2 tbs Tomato Paste
1 Bay Leaf
1 tsp Dried Thyme
Instructions:
1. Place the Chicken Broth in a large saucepan. Heat over medium-high heat until broth starts to boil. Cover and reduce heat to low.
2. Add beans to Crock Pot. Add remaining ingredients, except broth and sausage. Pour Chicken Broth (Be careful, it’s hot!) into Crock Pot. Cover and cook on HIGH for about 7-8 hours.
3. Remove Bay Leaf. Remove the Ham Hocks, let cool to touch. Remove ham from hocks, chop and add back to Crock Pot.
4. Add cut sausage to a heated skillet and sear over medium high heat until lightly seared.
5. Add to Crock Pot and cook on High 15 to 30 minutes until heated.
This recipe makes about 8 servings.

I’ve been adding a spoonful of the better than bouillon ham to my beans. It gives it that lip smacking flavor. (Packed with sodium though)
