I miss pumping waves in SoCal, in the winter. One New Years day, in 1984, we skied Mountain High, then the next day, bodysurfed 1000 Steps Beach. Epic. I'll never forget it.

Love 9th street Laguna. I competed at the Pipeline Bodysurfing Classic for 9 years representing Kauai. I liked Mt Waterman better than Mountain High but no snowmaking or night skiing!

My first time camping out at 1,000 Steps was 1980. It was a Easter weekend. Passed out we heard and felt the waves. Then, at 1 AM, the ocean woke us up. We,7, had to dig three rows of treches and got backed up to the cliff. Good times.

The Far out break looked like the best bet but paddling through the shore break to get out there looked epic....Shore break is for young gens because one off the falls or scag the sand and its lights out for an older guy. That scene where the body boarder went off the falls on to the sand looked like he could have easily gotten hurt. No good for an old man....
