Beekeeper's, a Concept Journal Feb 2018 Now Sold, Thankyou x

The glasshouse door is propped open to allow the sleepy bee to drift out on the breeze. The old wooden table has been drafted in as her makeshift dedk...too lovely to be inside. Her apiarists journal ready to record her meticulous records. Dipping her honeyed fingers into the jamjar lest she should spoil the page she prepares her brush. Loaded with paint it swirls in the jar like a burst of yellow gold. The delicate addition of burnt umber, blaack and charcoal and the little bee delicately emerges on the page. She reaches for the tangled skeins of ochre and dull copper, unpins the needle from her apron and squints into the sunlight to thread her needle. The scudding clouds and the drone of the bees the perfect accompaniment to her domestic endeavours. This journal gladdens the soul on this snowy morning. Such a gift.

I left this one without peeking because I too was making a bee journal and I didn't want to be too influenced by yours. I am almost finished with mine, although I keep thinking of more ideas but it's so far finished that I couldn't copy! lol I love your journal Jibid. I love the yellow and all the bees and you have some great ideas in there. Like you I am drawn to nature. There is so much to use in the natural world - so many ideas and colours and thoughts. This is my absolute favorite so far. Yellow and green are my favorite colours and of course Bees. I love some of your new ideas like the embossed bits and the die cuts. So very lovely. Gorgeous!
