Beekeeping Basics: Plywood Nuc Boxes

This videos shows the cut list, and process of how I am abke to get 4, 5 frame nuc boxes from a single sheet of 3/4" Plywood.
I use CDX plywood, and seal with either deck and fence sealer, or paint. Bascially, whatever I can get cheaper.

There is a mistake. The back panel is 7.5" x 9.5".

Craig, the shot of your measurements says Top is 11 x 22 5/8 and Bottom is 9 x 20 5/8. But then your shot of the plywood the bottoms look longer than the tops as you have them labeled. Can you clear up the dimensions on those two cuts? Thanks!

Yes, I make my supers for these.

You can use the same dimensions as for the nuc box to make supers. But, you have to add a cleat at the bottom as well to cover the frame rest on the nuc box.

People make their lids differently according to their needs. I make mine to overhang the sides. Some like a migratory lid, that is flush with the sides. I believe I mentioned that in the video. So you can make up your mind as to how you want ti make them. There is enough material for either lid design.

Lid is 11"x 22 5/8". Inner cover is 9"× 19 5/8", 1.5" rail, 3/16" underlayment, 2" center hole, vent holes are 3/4". Hope that helps.
