Beelink SER7 - Almost my Favorite Gaming Mini PC

I bought a SER7 approx 11 months ago, it was great, impressed with the build quality, didn't have any issues with the power adapter. The performance was excellent, i played a whole bunch of games, Cyberpunk etc, start to finish with decent graphics and fps, to the point i would forget i was using a mini pc and not a full gaming pc. Even began using it as my main work machine. Until it died mid game. Fully dead. No power, nothing. Contacted Beelink support and after a back and forth where they wanted me to make a video showing me doing their troubleshooting steps, they asked me to return the unit for warranty replacement. Which I've done and I'm now awaiting a replacement unit. That's my experience.

Please follow up I have a 5pro I wanted a 5max saw the 6max was same price so was gonna get that thot heck let’s look at 7 here I am, so maybe I’ll just stick with the pro or the max?!?

@@Mrjazzzery I chose the SER7 for RDNA3 graphics which is a step beyond the other options, the higher tdp, and the space/size form factor. All of which made it an excellent option, until it died. I wanted to play older games 1080p on high, new/newer games on low/med without FSR if possible. It did that. I hope the replacement will arrive soon so i can finish my playthrough of Mafia: Definitive Edition, which was running great.

Thank you, will not be getting one of these now thanks to your experience being shared. I have been skeptical of this short cut to get into PC gaming and I knew it was honestly too good to be true. Love my steam deck

Bummer. I'm sorry you had this issue. I didn't have this issue at all. I've been using this PC for probably 4 months now and it's always had a solid power connection.

Nice! Yea I heard its hit or miss, some are good some are really bad. I got a bad one :(

What do you think about the new SER8? The power supply seemed to be solved, maybe overall the improvement is worth the buying? I'm trying to choose between this and a Geekom A8

So I had heat issues with the 6 and the power issue with the 7. Beelink didn't do a great job of support in either case. I personally will no longer buy beelink products. I don't want this to sway anyone to not buy beelink but support is a big deal for me. I can't speak on Geekom as a company but I too can say I'm considering them in the future. What your main use case(s)? Home server stuff/Plex transcoding/desktop id maybe lean into an Intel chip, and if you have any interest in gaming AMD without question.

@@HillPhantom thank you very much for your thorough answer! I will use it mainly for gaming and some trading with multiple monitors and need a stable performance especially for the trading since it needs to download data fast and manage multiple windows with updating informations

I love the 8845HS with the 780M, I think this is the start of really being able to play some triple A games via onboard GPUs. .....I just can't trust they have everything else figured out. I would be hard pressed though no to consider this or go with it, I think if I did, I would get it from AMZ and really test it before you return window and Beelink support if you have an issue will not be helpful at all. If your use case is trading and some gaming, I really do like that processor. I just don't know much about Geekom A8 but just do to my experience I would prob go Geekom. But all these mini PC companies still need to iron out some kings IMO so, kina a crap shoot. I think if I DIDN 't have a bad experience I would prob lean towards Beelink. Or perhaps maybe I just confused you more lol. Cheers man!

Noise isn't an issue for me. About the same as a regular laptop so far, audible under load but that's about it. Pretty harmless.

I Bought the ser6 max 9 months ago and in the last few days I noticed the power cord problem although it works fine but I'm just worried about it But I saw some people on reddit saying that you can power it with usb-c cable but you'll need a 100w adapter I think

Yea I'm not certain why they made the choice. I miss mine. You can power with USBC I was just turned off by that bc it takes up a port then and I need all of them for my peripherals. Great little machime besides that tho!

Seems like these mini pc companies have big issues with customer service 😢. I like both minisforum and beelink but they both have numerous issues with specific units. Makes you think that these units aren't really tested, then you add the bad customer service on top of the issues you then have a big headache.

I can't agree more, seems like everyone is kinda still trying to figure them out. I even looked into trying to build one on my own and there are limited options. You would think we would be further along seeing as they have been around for a bit. Appreciate your feedback, I am looking at minisforum. Cheers

@@HillPhantom Came across your video as I am considering the Ser7. I bought the Minisforum UM780XTX (same specs as the Ser7 but includes the Oculink port) back at the start of the year to replace my Windows machine. Need light gaming, but also need graphics editing power. Seemed like a great machine. Both of my monitors are the same model, and only have HDMI or VGA. I used a DP to HDMI cable for the second monitor and it refused to work. Minisforum replied back in extremely broken English that numerous customers have that problem and don't use a converter cable. Oh, well that's helpful. Finally got it working with a USB-C to HDMI cable, but that required giving up the USB-C on the back, and it goes out on a regular basis - displays snow for a couple of seconds and then the picture comes back. I've had numerous issues with the ports as well. Minisforum has not replied to any further emails. Cannot recommend this company any less. BTW, I love the monitor riser you have your Mac Mini on! I have the same dock setup with my Mac Mini, but could not find a monitor stand like that the would fit the height.

It's the silly power adaptor that you cannot get as a spare that puts me off!

Got a question for you..... I bought this computer for 5 months ago and I loved it but...... I download the epic games installer (because I'm a fortnite junkie) and I can download the epic games installer but when I go to install it I get are 5203 or some b******* like that. I have followed numerous KZbin tutorials on how to fix the issue but nothing works. Recently someone told me that if I do a fresh install of Windows that it will fix the issue but then I'm not really confident on my ability to make sure I have the proper GPU drivers reinstalled. Please help

So, with all my mini PCs I re-install the OS for multiple reasons. I know its scary but it really isn't that bad in windows. Just go to your search bar, type in reset PC and then click "reset pc" button. It will walk you right though it, and take about an hour. I would do a fresh or clean install, and have it download windows for the internet if you can, this is the best way. Now will this fix you issues, unsure, but windows should install all the onboard GPU drivers during install automatically. Im not 100% sold this will fix Epic but I think its good practice anyway just bc these manufactures are a bit...well....shady at best.

Great suggestion for sure but been watching some of these Chinese companies that are selling AMD mobo processor combos in itx...thinking a small itx over a mini. But then again we will see what cyber Monday brings lol. Cheers!
