I used to lived in Cebu City for 6 years back in the late 70s thru early 80s. Cebu was less crowded before and there were no houses on the mountains or hills only Cebu Plaza hotel can be seen. Ayala Center used to be a golf course. Magellan Hotel was the famous hotel. I love the Cebuano Sausage totally different from Tagalog sausages. I learned to free dive in Cebu learned to freedive from fishermen. Take Care!!!

I grew up in Cebu and I've always dipped my "puso" with soy sauce and suka (vinegar) + ketchup. Larsian is especially crowded after bar hours or so. It was originally located at Fuente Osmena circle. Yes the prices are affordable and the meats taste delicious. What I really missed there is the chicken skin BBQ! Great review. Enjoy Cebu!

highly recommended: 1. CNT LECHON - across SM in the reclamation area // go early like 10 am! this is how traditional lechon should taste like! 2. Part'ebelle seafood restaurant- parallel street 200m meters walk from CNT // there's a massive grill by the entrance with lots of freshest fish a' grilling to choose from & order lato too, it's sea grapes you should try it. 3. STK TA BAY! - go to the main branch it's a spanish era house. tour around the house before ordering food // they have the best tuna panga in my opinion and green mango shake was super good. don't miss it! 4. Sugbo Mercado weekend market - Thursdays- Sunday 5pm onwards // nice weekend market vibe 5. If you want to try more yummy lechon go to alejo's, house of lechon and tatang's. zubuchon and rico's are overrated. alejo's is 2km away from taboan market where you'll find a wide array of dries fish. very insta-worthy compared to carbon market. tip: always go early if you're going to lechon places to get the best parts, like the crispiest skin. lechon is all about the skin. Enjoy Cebu!!

Chorizo de Cebu is the best among the rest. My friends tried to sneak in the Carbon Market made chorizo to pass through LAX. They were pretty much successful and we got to eat it during out potluck. Hmm yum yum yum or as we say it in Cebuano or Bisaya "Lami kaayo mga inday".(It taste so good girls). LOLBut I found out that the Tropics Food Co. carry the Chorizo de Cebu brand sold in the Filipino Supermarkets here in California. Just keep on exploring Cebu: its people, food, language, music, historical landmarks and most of all the culture. You two are most welcome in the Queen City of the South! Enjoy your stay. Amping

I grew up going to Larsian!!! Gotta go back there when I visit this summer. It’s ok if you want to dip your rice, no hard and fast rules😊. Personally, with grilled meat, I would skip the vinegar (since the kalamansi provides the sour/tart flavor). Just soy sauce, kalamansi, and pepper (crush according to hotness preference). Dip and enjoy. Yummm!

Best place to order food in Larsian is the Leytenians. Clean and not over burnt bbq.. best sauce is mixing the vinegar and soy sauce together with kalamansi and a little touch of chilli.. Try going to Sugbu Mercado in IT Park opens Fri, Sat and Sunday at 3pm-3am..its Cebu’s version of the Salcedo Village Food Market..

Ricky Buitizon yes u are right! puso is wrapped in coconut leaves not a banana leaf Because coconut leaves are tougher than banana leaf , and it can stand the heat during cooking . Banana leaves is just good wrapping cooked foods.

wow you've been eating a lot of nilagang mani (boiled peanuts) lately lol its one of filipino favorite snacks.Have you tried adobong mani? its my favorite! What to do? Explore the campus of Silliman University, it used to be an American school back in 1900s . Stroll our Rizal boulevard day or night by the sea, try our famous pastry Sans Rival, or our budbud, a rice cake wrapped in banana leaves dip a hot cocoa. You can go to our Pulang Bato waterfalls or Balinsasayao twin lakes, or the beautiful Manjuyod Sandbar. And if you're there on a Wednesday, go to our local farmers market Malatapay , or go to Apo island, a marine sanctuary. Not enough? go to our neighboring Siquijor Island.
