Oskar Blues Old Chub is a great choice for a Wee Heavy and goes so well with spicy foods (more fun than milk).

Definitely! Sweet leaning malt focused beers are generally solid for pairing with capsaicin heavy dishes, but you have to watch out for high alcohol levels, because that can exacerbate the burn! Capsaicin is soluble in lipids, that's why people always call for milk when their mouth is on fire, it does actually help a bit. But, as Arnold Schwarzenegger said: "Milk is for babies. When you grow up you have to drink beer." He did actually say that, ha!

Another great comparison. Thank you. It's also sometimes difficult to get wee heavies here in Continental Europe. I think the easiest one to grab is Belhaven

Glad you liked it! It's difficult to find a fresh Wee Heavy just about everywhere but Edinburgh is my guess!

Dubbels are obviously yeast-driven. What about the difference between doppelbock and wee heavy? Seems more subtle!
